Try disabling smart Ink and see if that solves it. We have that problem here with google and a few other sites like education city, and disabling smart ink fixes it.

Not sure which server I will be on either. It depends on which guild i join Good job we will get free server transfers to begin with. Not long to wait now!

I won't be touching Notebook 11 until they improve the load times, as I will never hear the end of it otherwise. Notebook 10.8 is fine for now.

The interface is far too white for me. I really do hope we get the option back to change the colour scheme as this new white metro look is awful.

I might take you up on that offer too I was free this weekend so managed to play the GW2 beta quite a bit. Got a chance to try all the professions but played Guardian and Ele the most. Absolutely stunning game, and it looked like they ironed out most of the issues as I had no login or error 7 problems this time. One thing is for sure, my Radeon 4870 isn't good enough for the game as it couldn't cope very well with the big battles. A new graphics card is needed before release I think!

Interesting. I have been busy scanning group policies on server 2012 RC to see what's new and found that the new Windows 8 ones also support Windows RT....

There was originally a GPO to allow it to boot to desktop but ever since the beta Microsoft changed it to only work if you had Desktop experience installed which is pointless. The server manager UI is shockingly bad as well.

I do wish Bethesda would fix the major quest bug in the College of Winterhold quest line where the Containment quest fails to start after finishing Revealing the Unseen. I kinda wish I got the PC version now so i can script it to start.

I contacted Smart about this a while ago. Here is a copy of the e-mail they sent me: What I did was add the key to our default user profile which works a treat but you should be able to deploy it via GPP too which will be better than a shortcut (which i guess needs admin rights?). I really wish they would have it switched off by default as they put it in annoying place. Dave

It sounds like you downloaded the wrong version. You need the MSI versions for the install manager. Smart have just released version 11 so I assume they are in the middle of updating the page. You can still download it from their US site though.

I only managed to play for a few hours at the weekend but I loved every minute of it. Lets hope we can play asura and sylvari on the next beta weekend

I didn't know this either but it looks like you are correct that 2008 R2 Datacenter licenses cannot be used on single processor servers. I have just read the pricing and licensing guide on the 2008 R2 website and it states on page 9: Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter Edition may only be run on servers with a minimum of two processors and requires a two-processor minimum purchase. Typical Microsoft.

Aye I didn't see that option I tried promoting my server 8 VM to DC and realised they've removed the dcpromo command. Seems like everything needs to be done in server manager itself now.

Anyone know if there is a GPO/reg tweak to launch IE in desktop mode by default? edit: nevermind i found it! Theres a GPO for it under Internet Explorer > Internet settings > Set how links are opened in Internet Explorer.

These new "hotcorners" are frustrating to use in a non full screen VM. I seriously hope they dont exist in Server 8....

I've accidently found it. Right click on the bottom left corner and you get a menu up. A quick way to get to control panel too

Wow talk about a dissapointment. There are some nice changes here and there but it is completely overshadowed by the poor decision to remove the start menu button and add the frustrating 4 corner thing. I think i preferred the Developer preview! And who decided to put the shutdown option in the settings button??

Thats good to know. I didnt realise there was a fix for the bug that caused folder redirection to fail if a previous user had clicked offline mode. That issue has been a niggle ever since we moved to 7.

I run both here. Id prefer x64 throughout but we still have some old avervision visualizers in use that only have x86 drivers.

As Forefront uses WSUS for updates what happens when staff take laptops home? With ESET/Sophos you can run a dual update profile system so that it downloads via the internet instead. Can Forefront do this too?

Yes and I still do occasionally. I now am just focusing on getting 50/50 from hall of monuments so I spend most of my time getting titles. I used to play it alot with my uni housemates and played quite a bit of PvP back when Heroes Ascent was Tomb of Primevil kings (Remember FoC Spike anyone? ). Great game and I will be looking forward to GW2 although knowing Arenanet this year will mean December. I do have to wonder that they will have to release the last of the Canthan follow on quests and Nightfall storyline pretty soon.

Not familiar with the ML350, but does it come with ILO? the ILO management log should tell you if you have had a hardware issue or not.

I had the same problems with IE8 when i used GPP so it isnt restricted to IE9. I found the only solution was to go through all the custom settings and change them back to their usual values but like you i gave up in the end. It is such a pain that the popup blocker exception GPO is broken and it looks like Microsoft can't be bothered to fix it.
