  1. But they're tricicles as nicicles! (for those of us of a certain age!) and also a main component of a really nice enerfy bar recipe I make!
  2. I was looking at renewing my car insurance today and was on the phone to a company (I like to haggle!) and they asked for my estimated mileage (as usual) - I don't do a lot of miles now and said 4000-5000 - they replied "Well which is it?" - I said - "I don't know its just a guess, because I don't know where I'll drive in the next year". After thius they said that it was really important that I erred on the high side because if I drove more miles than I had estimated and didn't inform them so that they could adjust the premium, I'd not be insured. I've never heard that that was the case in all the years I've been driving - does anyone know if its true?
  3. Yeah - unless you've a solid reason for wanting one - a combi is more efficient and much more practical
  4. Its pret-tay PRET-TAY good
  5. Been enjoying the "Get Shorty" series starring Chris O'Dowd - never seen him play someone with a dark side before - pretty good
  6. Just finished "Narcos" S3 - very enjoyable
  7. Thanks for that - I'll have a look - though as you say, new phones might be the way to go - I was only wanting to give the VOIP line a thorough testing prior to shifting my current landline number over to Sipgate so I can dump the Virgin line rental charge. I'll pop down to Argos and grab one of those cheapo ones for testing now - thanks again for your help - its saved me a lot of aggro
  8. Just been looking at the adaptors - but they seem to all be BT socket to rj45 - but the spa is rj11 - am I looking at the right thing?
  9. Thanks for that mate - plugged a cordless DECT phone in and it worked straight away - I was forced to exclaim "Bless my soul" and "Gosh!" or words to that effect. I'll grab one of those adaptor jobs and try again - though why the chuffing blimey don't they tell you stuff like that in the Help files? - thank goodness for EduGeek!
  10. Yeah - there's no PBX - the ATA just plugs straight onto the LAN. Interesting comment about the older phones - as the one I'm using to test is an ancient one - I'll see if I can borrow a newer one, just to eliminate that possible problem...
  11. After reading this thread, I've finally signed up to Sipgate Basic. Bought a Cisco SPA112 ATA, done all the configuring I can find...but... I can dial out fine - everything works as it should, however - on an incoming call - the phone won't ring, I can make test calls to it, and I can hear the ring tone on the calling phone - but the voip phone doesn't ring, BUT if I pick up - the call is connected fine. I've checked and rechecked the settings (as shown in sipgate help) and the regionalisation settings - but they appear to be correct - anyone got any ideas?
  12. Yeah - I agree entirely - you plug it together and it works! For most people that's a definite plus - its just us techies that like to fiddle and go our own ways
  13. I'd say MS is driving a car - its some effort but you can go where and when you like, Apple is catching a train - its fast & easy, but you go where they tell you and when they tell you
  14. By the way - this is how the knife turned out
  15. Been enjoying "Snowfall" - worth a watch
  16. Never somebody who made me laugh much I'm afraid
  17. Yum - make a big batch every January. My fave - hot toasted (English) muffin, heavily buttered and then a smear of marmite and marmalade on top - its got it all - sweet, sour, salty, umami
  18. Sad - Shelley was one of my all time fave sitcoms
  19. Quite enjoyed Ozark apart from the ending
  20. That looks promising - I'll have an investigate - - - Updated - - - Thanks - but that's another "almost dead" product - and fiddly to do what I want. Thanks anyway
  21. Or diabetes or sleep apnoea
  22. I used to use PhotoStory 3 to create slideshows with a voice talking about each picture in turn. The narrative was pre-recorded and then chopped up to attach to each pic - so all the audio is different lengths. The slideshow could then be exported as a video file. Now PhotoStory is old old old - can anyone recommend a (preferably) free product that gives a similar output?
  23. Yes - get yourself checked out - tiredness can be caused by many medical conditions, few of which you should leave untreated
  24. A server room pressed into service in the hot weather
  25. Got any links to them? I'll pass them on!
