Yep, found a forum post in Support.Net that said the same for the exact import file we were having problems with. Refreshing the basedata worked - panic over!
-
Anyone else having problems importing results into SIMS this morning? I've reported the problem to Capita but would be interested to learn if it's our problem or a SIMS wide issue? Thanks

Currently paying about £30pcm for 60mbps from them. Only service I get, no TV or phoneline. I got Netflix/NowTV/iPlayer/Plex/YouTube and a mobilephone so they are surplus to requirements. Apparently they are doubling their speeds again and by end of next year I'll be back up to 100mbps, I'll probably phone them then and drop back down to 60mbps (currently their 30mbps package).

Hope this doesn't turn out to be true, it'll leave me with a bit of a moral dilemma. I actually like a lot of the music. I doubt there's many people upset with not being able to play Garry Glitter or Rolf Harris songs. I grew up on Cliff music, pretty much my Dads entire record collection. We played Miss You Nights at his funeral. What's the moral stance on playing music from convicted pedophiles at full volume?

You'll probably be best phoning the DVLA and asking them. Just looked around the website and I can see why you're confused, I think I am now. They're talking about trikes for B1, my license shows a picture of a Luton for B1!?! I do vaguely remember the change coming in about Lutons and them being moved off of the main license but as the DVLA site says - they keep bloody changing the catagories and their meanings!
-
You used to get catagory B1 which included Lutons when you passed your main driving test. They changed that something like 10 years ago and now you have to sit an additional test to drive that catagory. I think it now comes under one of the HGV's but am not sure. Long story short - you license doesn't allow you to drive Lutons, sorry.

You do know that DOS+Windows (3.1/95/98/ME) and NT (4/2k/XP/7/etc) are two different OS's, right?
-
Really? 98SE was the definitive DOS based version of Windows. Solid as a rock (at least in comparison to '95 or ME - then again holding you finger on the reboot button was more stable than ME!)

I take it you can log in to the new server? I assume from transferring your FSMO roles and running dcpromo on the old server it's the only DC on the network? That being the case, first thing to check is that DC replication completed before you removed the old DC. I take it all user and computer accounts appear correctly in the new DC? Next check would be DNS. You don't have anything in DNS that points to the old DC do you? If so, remove it. You need to go through DNS with a fine tooth comb, some of the entries can be pretty deep. Also, check you DHCP settings. Are they giving out your old servers IP for DNS? If so your clients are looking in the wrong place thus the error. If that doesn't fix it, have you tried logging into a computer as local admin and then re-adding to the domain. Just in case the trust relationship has gone belly up? I'd be 99.999% certain on a DNS issue, either rogue entry in DNS or DHCP giving out incorrect IP for DNS.

Excellent point. If you do go down the manual route, then it'd be best to sysprep the machines after you've brought the image down but before you move the hard drive.
-
I think the AD accounts are getting in the way, WDS+AD are pretty cleaver in that regard. Here's what I'd do... Image all the machines, don't worry about the naming. Then manually for each machine... - Take it off the domain - Delete all AD computer accounts - Create new AD computer accounts in the right OU's - Rename each machine accordingly - Re-add all machines back to the domain
-
Are you deleting the computers from AD prior to imaging? What imaging system are you using and have the machines been imaged with it previously?
-
How old is the PC? BIOS or EFI? I've seen a Win8 compatibility option in a lot of new BIOSes, not sure what it does, but might be needed if you haven't checked it already.

This has been my favourite ISO burner for a while: The Official ImgBurn Website If the CD/DVD is booting but has corruptions perhaps there's a quality problem with the media being used? If you've got the ISO from VLSC it should be complete, I've never had a problem. The only other issue I can think of is if the Motherboard has an unknown hard drive controller, or you are using RAID, then you's need to have a USB memory stick with the additional drivers plugged in when you boot the OS Installer (I think Win 7 picks the drivers up automagically if it sees the pen stick - but don't quote me on that, Win XP you had to push F6 at the right point in setup to load the drivers.)

I wouldn't worry about that. It's not an issue unless it's developed language skills, then perhaps you have a moral dilemma - disinfectant or peace treaty? -
Server 2008 R2. And just double-checked the local security policy and UAC is disabled. I'm going with INTERACTIVE as the quick&dirty fix. Remote security is more important than local, and remote security is working. I can live with this set up, just counterintuitive. What's the point of creating security groups in AD if you can't make best use of them?
-
Tried adding my user account to the local Administrators groups, didn't work! Have added full control for the INTERACTIVE group, idea being only net admins would log on to server locally so no harm done. Still this can't be the right solution?
-
Update: A bit of testing, accessing remotely appears to be fine, group permissions not working locally. So when working on server group permissions not being resolved, seem to require individual user accounts listed in ACL instead of security groups. This means the problem would only effect network administrators. I'd sooner update group memberships every time we change tech than have to alter folder ACL's on the file server each time. Anyone have any ideas?
-
Hi, This one has me scratching my head - what am I doing wrong? Hard Drive on server, W:, shared as Techfiles$ Share permissions = Everyone, Full Access Drive Security = System, Full Access; Creator Owner, Full Access; HHA Network, Full Access. I am a member of the HHA Network AD Security group. Effective Permissions on my user account show full control. When I try accessing the drive I get Access Denied! Why? Thanks.

Exiled with the healing factor of Wolverine WYR Repeating one day for all eternity (ala Groundhog Day) or Have one more month to live (Bucket List) and then that's it?
-
Mmm, Fire starter works best in most survival situations I can think off, just hope theres some wood somewhere around here.... WYR 80 days circumnavigating the globe, or 80 day travelling around England?
