  1. They're down to £79 on Amazon and Tesco Direct.
  2. The FitBit is as smart as I want a watch to be, it's light so you forget you're wearing it, the support team are amazing and HR monitor is still fun after 6 months
  3. haha! Nah, usually around 15,000 (huge school) but I ran a 10k last night
  4. I've created an EduGeek group here: https://www.fitbit.com/group/22FX4K If there's enough interest I'll make an EduGeek weekday challenge for everyone to join each Monday. My user is https://www.fitbit.com/user/2ZGRG6 (I've actually forgotten to charge mine today which is what reminded me to do this post!)
  5. I think that's a big part of the problem. Needs a culture shift! Thanks.
  6. Thanks everyone. We are using PaperCut, we're thinking about enforcing some extra restrictions on it!
  7. I think that the amount of printing is totally out of hand here! Interested to know how many users/pages you print per day/week on average? We have 3000 users and average 12-15,000 pages a day.
  8. You think that an engineer would go to a parents evening, and suddenly turn into a salesperson? I call BS on the lot of them. It's just another way in because we all ignore their bloody cold calls!
  9. Hopefully this will serve as a warning to anyone else who Googles their name.
  10. lol. Games like 'Jungle Speed' and playing cards. Poker set = cheap evenings in.
  11. Mine's broken at the moment, waiting for a replacement. Will use again daily as soon as I can. It's brilliant motivation when you just want to slob.
  12. I might just be being sceptical but yesterday I received a cold call from a company called Vohkus. After I said no I wasn't interested the chap called me back and said that he was sending his own children to our school and wanted to know if we could 'work together'. Today I've received a standard template: They're based in Hemel Hempstead on the footer, near Old Street on Google. We're in North West London so it's possible... just wondering if these sort of underhand tactics have been spotted by anyone else (if they are indeed underhand). Who repeats the school name that many times?! /not quite a rant.
  13. New phones going out to a number of staff. Has anyone got a template they'd be happy to share? Cheers!
  14. This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages. Warning: Shes a very loud American 'WHY ARE YOU HERE BEAR?' 'BEAR! STOP THAT!' 'PLEASE STOP BREAKING MY THINGS, BEAR!' Happy Friday all
  15. No longer have these projectors. New boxed lamps. Anyone have anything interesting to swap?
  16. We no longer use these boards. Anyone have Epson pens for exchange (ELPPN03B)? I know there's a cost difference of about £30 each, so trade for 4?
  17. We don't have a problem with you either
  18. 1,2,3... *NT*... 95...etc
  19. This cool little Kickstarter project looks to be nearly ready to ship. ZANO - CAPTURE LIFE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNCaqHaARu4 So, anyone got any ideas for creative uses in a school, please?
  20. Is anyone using Google Fusion Tables? I've had a request to enable, but every link on Google's support sites seems to be a dead end. If I attempt to load the link to create a new Fusion Table it gives the error: 'We are sorry, but you do not have access to this service.' but the Admin Panel doesn't list it as an option. I've seen elsewhere that there was a form to apply, but this now leads nowhere. Is there a way to get this applied to Google Apps for Education accounts, or have we maybe missed the window to sign up? Any help appreciated, as always
  21. haha 'accidentally received a text message stating their children was “absent” from school' Scare quote overdose in the Telegraph!
  22. Hundreds of parents left frantic when school wrongly sends text alerts about their 'missing child' - ITV News
