I'd demote that domain controller, promote other domain controllers, change or repartition the servers hard drive and then restore that domain controller from backup to the new drive locations. I have ghosted a domain controller to a bigger hard drive before now and it worked!

Its not from someone offering to outsource your IT is it?

hehe 92250 keys are very usefull and i've got one of those 92MSTs too! In the old days if you wanted a key to a classroom you'd borrow someone elses, take it down the heelbar and claim it back on expenses. Now its all patented keys and swipe cards! I think some cabs are moving away from the RONIS keys (same as 250s). I keep a pot of misc keys that I don't know what they fit, never chuck em because you will find where they fit someday!

Citroen Xsara 1.4, Cheap as chips as it was someones trade in and the dealer couldn't wait to get shot of it. Spent £500 in repairs though as the last owner didn't do anything, interior is immaculate, can't say much about the bodywork. Someone scratched the driver and rear passenger doors in the supermarket carpark this morning. Oh well, this is why I won't buy a brand new car!

SolarWinds Orion wins for me, not free but it pings all your devices on set intervals, creates records of drive space useage. SNMP monitoring etc.

Email, knocking on the door, you name it. We have IWBs in all of the classrooms so if one stops working this impacts lessons so these have to be resolved quickly.

Hey guys I know this sounds wastefull but at the end of the day, it is the schools responsibility to dispose of all electrical equipment under the WEEE Regulations. I'd just call in a WEEE Disposal contractor or telephone the council and see if they will dispose of it for the school and the school will have to swollow the bill. I know it is all well and good to try and save tax payers money but at the end of the day it costs more in your time chasing these suppliers etc then asking the caretaker to call a skip. This is somthing I have learned working as a technician, once the item is no longer of use, it might be wastefull to throw it away but your time is also money. I have sent working computers to Africa in the past too so I take no joy in working this way.
