I have a machine that does not seem to be applying stetting from a group policy even thought resultant set of policy mmc says that it should have applied. What could I do to sort it out? No GPO have change and I have joined another machine to the domain and had no problems. No group policy changes have been made.

The basics is that the to switches are connected on a trunked port this mean that traffic is tag on this link so ends up on the right vlan the other end. You then put an access port in untagged in to the vlan that you want. Why are you creating these 3 vlans?

I think it comes from a change security model in schools I still find it confusing that one teacher is not allowed access to some information but another teacher is I thought they were all on the same team. This suggest that historically all teacher had access to all information and now there are different information circle in schools. But the data protection act is stupid that for over 50 years index cards have been used but only now have we decided that use need to registered that card index which is stupid.

Unifi is great I would love to use it again the non pro stuff is at a great price point! You can manage the non and the pro together which is great for schools.
