are these guys the most downloaded people in the world... just been routing through the file server and i have lost count of how many pictures we have of these 2 tools. even found a picture of zig and zag whats the most downloaded picture in your school?

we have viglen here, we can manage the active directory from a web interface any where in the school. Works ok, but now again we have to do a IISRESET. Ideal if your at the other end of the school, and need access.

Had a phone call the other day from voicegroup asking me what software package we use to create our school website.. i told them that we use Dreamwever. they went to say that they had a web creating package that could help improve our website. Now i know our school website is not the best, and i dont thinks its DDA compliant. so decided to look in to this further and found the folowing info at the website website has anyone dealt with voice group and more importantly what is the package. they havent emiled me any details about the package. Does anyone have any idea how to make there site DDA compliant? I just dont want to feel pushed in to buying crap software to abide by tyhe law when i could do my self with what we already have, and obviously improve the site. cheers

Hi, I would like to learn how to write vbs programs so i can automate tasks etc on servers and workstations. I have little programing experience, wrote the odd bat file but thats about it. Does any one know of a good book that could help get me started, or know of any free learning material on the web? cheers

ok just been reading a wiki about memory leak. is the server OS and installed apps all up to date. may be worth checking with software companys to see if they have recognized any memory leak problems and have a go at updating. I have never seen this strange problem before so would love to know what the outcome is

Correct me if im wrong but when you share a folder on an NTFS drive you should give the shared folder everyone group full control and then setup the ntfs permissions, other wise you will get conflict.

right click the 'teacher name' post box select properties and have a look see what effective permissions are set for the folder under your students group. I have Create/Write data Create folders/append data Writte attributes Write Enable attributes Read permissons checked

Create 'teacher name' post box and set the following permissions for staff and students students write staff -Modify, Read & execute, List folder contents, Read, Write 'teacher name' owner of the post box -Full permission I suggest you set a folder quota on each post box this will force the staff to clear there own post box, saving you the time of having to go clear them your self. Also when the kids save the work, they will need to put the first initial and last name at the end of the file name, otherwise if a full class saves there science coursework as 'science courswork' and copys that file to the teachers post box, they will just overwite each others work. You can demon starte that to the staff when you show them.

You will want to change all staff passwords
