we give them an AUP for to take home for the parent to sign. they get there username and password straight away. their then given 2-3 weeks to return the forms. any out standing forms we start with cutting the net and email access, and then the account. I think thats a fair way to treat them.

When we start having mcahinces damaged in an area, i tend to monitor it very closely. I make sure the machines in the target room are not been written on stabbed punched etc. If i do find a damaged machine/mouse/keyboard/monitor. that class is hald back after school. the culprit always owns up and a bill is promptly sent home, followed by a detention after school on friday. Personally i would like to launch the little buggaers.

I had no problems installing the software on our machines. why did you decide to install it on the server and not the client machines?

is the application data stored on the machine locally, or on the server? by logging on as admin you are updating the application data folder, whre as the student account wont be allowed to do so.

I think you may find it is a permissions issue. have you ran REGMON and FILEMON under staff and studdent accounts? This should flag up any dennied access permissions to the reg and folder/files.

Yep, had that happen....just stuck a notice on both intranet and staff room syaing to back up any mo3's as they were getting removed from the server. give them a days notice, cleared alot of space in the end.
