We used to use Vericool and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole! We have just implmented NRS Trust-e and so far it's been fine except for some issues with wireless tills. The support from NRS though has been great and they are really owning the problem rather than passing the buck to the wireless company.

We went to NY over Christmas 2011 and it was fantastic. Throughly enjoyable trip and so much to see and do.

We are just about to build a new observation classroom here and the SLT are interested in video systems such as Iris Connect and Classwatch. Does anyone have any experience of this kit? If so how good or bad do you find it? Is it used by staff? Is it easy to set up and manage? Etc. Etc. It would be great to hear from users rather than the sales people from the respective companies. We had Meru put in over Summer by Virtue Technologies. It's a big site so we have 75 APs. At the moment we have about 400 to 500 ish devices and it's fantastic. We are moving to 1:1 devices and currently support BYOD and it seems very quick and robust. We had minor issues but updating drivers on laptops sorted it and the support was excellent throughout. I would certainly buy it again and from the same company.

It depends on what kind of experience you want I guess (and also how much flexibiltiy there is in each price). The cheaper one offers you a lot of potential to make changes yourself and stamp your own mark on it. The dearer one is much more ready to live in. We've just been through a similar process (although quite a bit dearer in Kendal!) and we ended up getting a chunk of the purchase price then doing some work on it ourselves (or with mates). Looking back we are so much happier with the house that needed work as it is now very much ours with things the way we want them. Horses for courses I guess - depends how much work you want to do (and what the price you could get them for would be)

We had a Meru system installed by Virtue Technologies in summer and it is fantastic. I can highly recommend the kit and the installer.

We have iOS 6 on our iPads and they work on the Internet fine however we do have ours setup to use transparent proxy via smoothwall

Give Martin or Tim at Audioworks (Audioworks - Audio and Audio Visual - PA Systems - Induction Loop Systems - Installation - Lancaster) a call - they are really helpful. We have used them loads and they have always been outstanding.

Would Office 365 Web apps not be sufficient for them? Might be a way forward.

We have just had a whole new Meru system installed so now have the following surplus to requirement. I have no real idea on prices so have put some guesses on. 1 x Wireless Edge Services Module (WESM) - J9051A with 2 x 12 port radio licences - £100 23 x RP210 wireless access points - £40 each Happy to talk different prices if people feel they are wildly out. Postage will be extra at cost.

We have a new school week this year. M,Tu,Th,Fri there is an AM reg which is marked by form tutors. On Wednesday there is no AM reg and we go straight in to Period 1 Is there a way of making Lesson Monitor/Attendance take the P1 mark on Wednesday and populate the AM reg but just on that day. I know I can do it for all days as our P4 populates our PM reg but can’t see a way of making a single day different.

These guys (SystemHOST | Extra-ordinary IT outsourcing) wrote us a utility called SimSync. This creates AD accounts automatically when students and staff join. It also disables them when they leave on SIMS. It runs over night for us but I can't see any reason why it couldn't run more often. Perhaps worth giving them a call.

Here it's Head - IT Manager - 2 x Senior Techs (1 manges the 2 techs and does all the frontline, customer facing work, the other does all the network and server developments) We are an academy with 1450 on roll + a special school + feeder primaries. Oh and we are all term time only + 4 weeks in the hols.
