when you send a message the pc beeps to remind the teachers that messages have been sent. Make sure Senior Team get behind you when implimenting

we find that sims messaging is not effective as the teachers just ignore the beeps when they log into sims. You need the backing of slt to put a rocket up the you know what as these messages are important and could become a CP issue.

Thanks Kent ,you will find in education that no matter what we give teachers they still manage to mess it up We just need finer control Or a teacher release section that you can give teachers access to the devices you require and remove the print/release all and delete all buttons.

yep the problem is they are numptys and hit print all i dont think i can change this option as the one i found was for when the pupil logs in to see what jobs they have printed from the link on the balance popup very fustrating

Hi could some kind papercut users please test the following for me we use the print release function via the following url http:\\servername:9191\release on this page it has release all and delete all buttons i need to remove these buttons on the admin console under options you will find a check box that says enable release all and delete all buttons when i uncheck nothing is happening on our brand new build latest release we are nunning 13.1 build 21541 march 28th i know you can change a config file for dedicated print release stations but i need to be able to do the same on the above mentioned url can you post your finding to see if its a bug in the build or a bug in my braincells thanks in advance

hi people could someone give me the correct command that i can run as a startup script that will delete the following folder c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 folder the reason being we have introduced some mfds with papercut and at randowm points on random machines the printjobs are not being sent to papercut but they are just sitting on the machine. the only way to repair the fault is to delete the above folders contents and reboot. we are using the toshiba universal driver 2 as i said it is random and i dont know if its a network connectivity issue at the moment as our switches are not the best in the world nothing in the event viewer to indicate that the correct driver is failing to load but what happens is a strange cut down version of the driver appears when staff send things to print. this only affects windows 7 at the moment but i need to get this sorted asap as i dont want the staff to loose faith in the new printing system i am looking at the power saving options of the machines to see if that is affecting thisngs in some way. i just cant remember the correct switches to do this as a batch file. I have been set the task to give all our students an email account. we have an internal exchange box but i do not want the kids to be part of this system. Is office 365 free for education we do not have any microsoft agreements so will it be a chargable thing. i only need email and not the rest of the software. has anyone gone down this root. Any tips you can give me I dont need to have it linked to our domain except for having users added through AD if that is possible. Thanks in advance

Hi Sims on windows 7 32 bit one of our machines is playing up when the member of staff prints big runs of letters from sims everything is fine but if they do a quickletter and then try and print the system says it has printed but nothing is sent to the printer. has anyone else had this problem. It is driving me and the member of staff mad so any ideas on what to try would be great.

Has anyone come across a problem with the quickletter templates being set to letter instead of a4 they are in the sims folder. if i load them and change the page size to a4 then resave they are ok but cant understand why they are that way when the system is set to a4 by default it is office 2003 though so this could be part of the problem

yes fully up to date and full dot net frame work capita were as much use as a chocolate fireguard reinstalled windows again and all seems fine strange problem though and capita dont know what the error codes indicate. thanks for the replys thanks given to all

All users are affected. Copied the sims.net folder from working system and i still get the error uninstalled it and even pushed it out via solus 3 same issue. It must be the machine so i think a refresh should be done...but i will wait till capita give me a solution and post for future reference
