How many entry/exit points to the building do you have? Would something like EntrySign be suitable. Staff can use their existing paxton fobs to sign in and out. Entrysign will open the door closest to it if you want it to and save having the swipe twice.

Regarding Govs and email addresses. I agree that they don't handle tons of Personal Data but there is some in most schools. Confidential minutes - will normally be confidential because they relate to a person. Staff restructuring - even if there are no names, if you say the Site Manager post is to be made redundant that relates to one person and would be likely to cause harm if the information were released unintentionally.

This thread is confusing. I would say that all of the above is Personal Data anyway. I am sure you are right and that there is confidential data that isn't personal in a school. Can't think of what that might be though.

Update - Spelling City will still get correct definitions and mark according to your spelling list in UK English. It's just the voice that remains American, which I don't see as a big deal - it's no different to a teacher in school having an accent IMO.

If the only feature you're looking for is video streaming, just put windows and plex on it. FreeNAS is good to tinker with if you have kit already and want to use more NAS features.

in that case go with the 4 bay qnap you linked to. don't bother with netgear or buffalo for this imo.

If plex is a real consideration I think you'll regret not spending the extra few hundred pounds and getting something with some processing horsepower. Likewise if you are going to have a play with VPNs, Cloud Sync, CCTV and some of the other cool things they can do then I think you'll quickly hit the limit of the processing power. It will transcode video on the fly while recording CCTV and act as a CloudBerry target for hybrid backups as well as seperately doing Time Machine Backups.

I'm still working on it. I thought I'd restricted the transport rule to a small group of dummy accounts but someone emailed me about encrypted USB sticks the other day and now I can't read it because of the above error! Whoops.

Yes I am on the later version built on Azure Information Protection. You still can't revoke sent emails and I believe this is because OME encrypts a file and then sends it to the recipient to then get a licence to decrypt it, whereas I think Egress stores the file on it's servers and people can then access that. I checked later on and found that the protect button had appeared so I tried it out both with the protect button and the transport rules. It works in that it takes an email and adds it as an encrypted attachment but I've tried 2 emails to another O365 address in a different tenancy and they both say I don't have permission to view. Thats with both signing in to office or using a One Time Password. I've tried it on PC and iOS as well as with the outlook iOS app and with iOS Mail/Safari.

I've defined a label in Azure AD - Information Protection and want it to be able to be applied to documents manually by people to start with. I have the policy set up, but how does a user add a label to a document in Office Online?

Hi All, I was wondering what people's thoughts are about using Security and Compliance Center to help with mapping where personal data is and helping to prevent it's inappropriate distribution (or at least alerting the user that it's a bad idea). So far I've set up a Data Leak Prevention policy and used all the built-in options for UK Data Protection Act + Credit Card + Debit Card numbers. What else can I do to it to make it a more useful tool? Can I import more 'Sensitive Data Types' from somewhere? I also feel like labels should be useful but can't get my head around how to make it useful. Any thoughts appreciated!

They are £30+VAT on amazon. Worth bearing in mind that FileVault is good enough and built in to the OS on Macs.

Yes we started using them a few years ago. A few reasons: They don't run software on the client. Once the pin has been entered it looks like a regular USB stick to any PC/Mac/Thin Client/Chromebook/Scanner/Printer etc. They have a good security rating. However they are expensive and can break so my preference is: RDS (so data doesn't leave site) --> Encrypted Laptop (using offline files so that data is backed up) --> Datashur USB Stick.

I'm ambivalent about which Hypervisor, either Hyper V or ESXi. Looking at dual CPU hosts with 10 physical cores in each CPU. Realistically I think 6-8 windows VMs would accomplish what we need to do, allowing for a bit of leeway for the future. Thanks, this is kind of what I was hoping for and then the crossover between Std and Datacenter is dead easy to work out. Are the licences based on physical or logical cores?
