Just found out the VPN has a low MTU value set at 1380, can domain controllers replicate with a lower MTU or is domain traffic always marked at do no fragment, its strange how the port test is working on other servers but not between these 3. Can I force the DC's to use a lower MTU for communication?

Just used port query to take a look at port 389, ndc02 to both sdc01 and sdc02 is fine, sdc01 and sdc02 to ndc02 fail on port 389 via tcp but get though on 389 udp. Firewalls are off at both ends, what the hell would stop this other than a firewall somewhere?

Dcdiag stops on knows of role holders on both sdc01 and sdc02, a check in AD at operation masters reports correctly but i get an error when i check infrastructure, operations master error. these are all on both sdc01 and sdc02, ndc01 is reporting no errors.

I have a domain controller problem that I can't seem to find a solution to. I have two sites all on one domain connected over a VPN tunnel, with 4 domain controllers total, I'm getting the following errors ndc02 is reporting error 55 sdc02 and 55 sdc01 then when i run repadmin /repsummery on sdc01 abd sdc02 i get error 58 to ndc02 Replication looks ok as its likely going though ndc01 which is the PDC. I can ping the servers and resolve them through DNS, ports look ok using port query. Can anyone give me some ideas to look at or try, please?

Just did the upgrade and have same problem with academic year being shown wrong, Capita guy i just talked to said he was not aware and its and issue and is isolated to us.... passed it to 2nd line.

Been thinking about the same things recently as well, the problem i have with education is that you dont tend to be a specialist in any area but more ok at lots of things in lots of areas, that makes going to industry both daunting and hard due to most company's looking for someone as blue pointed out above who is a expert in a one or two areas. I need to pick a area to specialise in and pay for training to get there but its hard knowing which direction to pick.

We moved away this summer mainly due to the amount of down time SB has it was getting to be an joke and getting some very competitive costs. Our new provider Virgin has been stable as a rock once we got it up and running but the customer service is beyond dreadful, i still have complaint open from August and unresolved or acknowledged, our account manager changed and the new one has not even phoned to introduce them self, seems these days you can choose the smaller company's and get a personal touch with a smaller redundancy setup and more regular down time or a big company who will never know who you are or care but have a big system in place to make sure you always have a connection. One thing i will give them is that they where always polite and tried hard to resolve issues as fast as possible and where honest when things went wrong, sadly this is not enough when the connection is down as much as it was and teaching and learning was suffering as a result.

This is driving me mad, there are sites i dont want listed and shown to students, but i have no control over what displayed in suggested links. Anyone figured out a way to control this yet?

Hi all, I'm starting to roll out Office 2016 around the school, we use IAMCLOUD to federate sign in on office 365 and we have it working on some pcs but the majority do not automatically sign the user in when you open an Office application. The single sign on though the browser and the Cloud drive mapper is also working, we just seem to have random performance on the office side. I cant seem to find any logs to tell me if it tried to sign the user in and failed because either. Any ideas?

Scary thought on how much damage i could do if i typed in the wrong commands.

If you change the type from Distribution to Security will the Distribution groups still work?

We use IAMCLoud Drive mapper, when the students login, it pulls off the email address then they type there password in, and it maps the Students OneDrive. There is a little work to do in the background before this but its not to bad. If you have a federated service setup then it would log them in as well. We have been using it with Students for the last 6 months, Staff are about to use it once they return from half term and we have migrated there work. Hope that helps. We are not using it for Sharepoint yet but i cant see why this would be a problem either.

Everything feels a little too fast, the sounds are amazing if a little overwhelming when its all going off, you dont get a sense of direction from sounds they all seem to bleed into a big noise.

Does anyone know if its possible to have office 2016 sign in using the ad details the user used to login so they dont have to sign into office 365 each time?

But it will only show the current academic year, and the grades i want to show are from last year, none have been added this year yet.

Schoolcomms have told me there is no way using the software to display last academic year results at the moment. So my only other option is to change something in SIMS to make last academic years results extend into this academic year, i just dont know if that's possible or how to do it if it is, and if it will have effect anything within SIMS.

Hi, is anyone using Schoolcomms to display assessment data? If so how are you showing the results for the previous academic year? Is there a change that can be made in SIMS to allow this while not causing other problems? Hope someone can help as Deputy head is full on mad about it. Thanks in advance.

Been trying to work out how to do this for a while now, the problem i have is that you have to manually join the the calendar to your own one, you cant push it out to everyone.

Been using this for 2 months now, so far very good, few problems we had/have are with the following Photos, so we have given students taking photography a small area to work with if they run out they need to move it to there Onedrive Mail merge, we had few students try and do a mail merge the other day, we are trying to figure out why this wont work at the moment and a fix. Other than these two problems it seems to be running great, all students are saving and working from their Onedrive area mapped as a drive.

We are doing this right now using a product called Cloud drive mapper from I am cloud, we migrated all local student data to one drives in the last half term and are now mapping it for students, its not perfect yet but it has great potential, i have come across a number of problems which I'm working though at the moment but its nearly good to go. Few things, we are on a 100/100 line which is upgrading to 200/1000 in the summer, the speed of access to Onedrive is a little up and down the limit seems to be Microsoft's end rather than our connection and i have raised this with them twice now and is a known problem, on the flip side the speed each user gets is more equal so no one uses all the bandwidth. ADFS would be nice but its very expensive, I am cloud offer this and the cloud drive mapper together but it was a lot of money to basically allow users to not have to type passwords in, i couldn't justify its cost/effect. I could go on site but as others have pointed that requires new servers/vms and a complex setup, not to mention the fact that this if failed would kill access to O365.
