  1. ADFS? I believe you can make moodle SAML aware, and also works with O365. Internal logins would be seamless. With the 2012r2 web application proxy it should be able to provide authentication to most things externally I would have thought
  2. Kind of hard to take a bands worth of gear on the tube....

  11. There's a MS topic on Administrative shares here: How to create and delete hidden or administrative shares on client computers
  12. The Dollar symbol hides the folder (actually it makes it an administrative share, but that's another story) - can you not get to the permissions by clicking on the white space from withing the share and choosing properties? this should open the properties of the containing folder

  19. Andy Rehfeldt's stuff is always very well made - although I much prefer when he takes metal tracks the other way... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx8hjW7FqKE
  20. It could if it were a lync certified line - If I remember correctly most SIP lines are UDP but lync requires TCP. I've yet to find anyone doing it for a reasonable price in any of our locations, so an asterisk box basically doing conversion only is in place in our offices acting as a voice gateway. The bonus is with a digium card in a physical server running asterisk, you can provision ISDN lines in the same way. Alternatively people like audiocodes make lync certified gateways too.
  21. If there's phone lines at each site you can have a Survivable Branch Server at each site. So Site A has a full lync install, phone lines and a voice gateway (asterisk probably best as you've used it before) Site B has an SBS and voicegateway. When comms between sites are up, all functionality is hosted from the main install (conferencing, response groups, etc) - when they're down, call handling (minus conferencing and response group) is handled by the SBS. So there's reduced functionality, but calls in and out are still handled.
  22. add address policies/manually create aliases as required add them to whichever antispam/smarthost you use as accepted domains change the MX records for the domains (and SPF records if in place)
  23. I think you're setting yourself up to be responsible for a bit of kit you don't own here. You're also setting precedence for others to do the same - my response would be that they can use it with any BYOD systems, but other than that they use issued hardware.
  24. is it running as a VM? I've seen issues with time sensitive services if the hypervisor time is creeping (solved by setting an NTP source on the hypervisor) even if the VM is correct
  25. Beat the user with it till they learn to use network shares?
