what do you reckon on changing the server name? am i asking for trouble?

Sims server is still 2003, any advice on upgrading ? SQL is on separate 2008 r2 box. obviously windows is a fresh install so can i copy SIMS over, i presume i need to install ? What should i make sure i have before I start?

I have a 100 hard disks to swap and need to minimize the downtime to the user. can i get these screws ??

has anyone managed to get into a recent saturn 7 based LG TV? I've got a 42LK450-U i want to install LGMod on or maybe even customize the firmware a little more if can get the source, but i can't get into the TV. LG have tightened up the access. the trick with holding OK on tv and remote doesn't work. i can control the volume via the serial port, but i can't access any options via it or enable debug mode. i haven't got a programmable IR device unfortunately/.

there's nothing wrong with sccm it just needs setting up properly. really bugs me when people make out a product is rubbish and something else should be used because they don't have the skillset for it.

vmware consolidated backup, did i not send you my scripts?

far to prone to human error for my liking, out backup routine consists of eject tape print expiry date, put in safe. replace tape with new or reused tape. changing the tape is a daily routine but the autoloader means if everyone is ill or similar the backup will still run for 4 days.

if there were no roles on it, you could have just turned it off reinstalled over the top and used ntdsutil to remove any reference of it from the domain

Any ideas on visual studio 2012? i want to use it but can't as the capitals just annoys me way too much.! its a menu rather than ribbon though and i didn't seem to be able to rename the menu items

looks like my gpupdate was too soon. probably changed it on one domain controller and gpupdate from the other ! they hadn't replicated yet as i did it 3 seconds after changing the policy in gpmc. i hae just right clicked my taskbar and task manager is indeed disabled copying the exe to a different still doesn't work it is still disabled

does it apply to administrators ? cause i just set it and gpupdated ? and i still have task manager. I'm logged into a domain controller (my laptop) as administrator though

is work and lab different versions of server? or different domain functional levels?

desktop shortcut doesn't work if GPO disables it does it?
