  1. Yes, 75 user accounts. We're well within this limit though.
  2. One school I manage uses SBS2003 with around 40 clients. We've experienced a few strange problems recently culminating today with the discovery that some client PCs cannot be connected to via TS from the server, not all of them, just most. It's a problem because a number of users login over RWW and they can't now. Coincidentally today a number of Outlook 2003 clients have decided to take themselves offline, again not all of them. In every case simply unticking the 'work offline' menu item solves the issue. This issue may or may not be related to the TS issue. Finally, and in reverse chronological order, last week a few PCs developed slow login issues, in all cases this was resolved by removing the affected machines from the network and rejoining them. Do the above issues seem as though they could be inter-related is the first question? DNS issue maybe? What could cause some PCs to become non-contactable over TS? No machine has any other connectivity related problem - all can see network shares, all can access the internet and Exchange, all can logon OK. I've taken one of the affected machines off the network and rejoined it but to no avail this time. I need to attack this issue first thing in the morning so I'd really appreciate any pointers where to look first, any ideas of what the issue(s) could be. Pete
  3. I'm currently with T-Mobile and plan to stay with them for a number of reasons. However, I'd like an Android phone and the only T-Mob option is the G1. I currently use a Windows powered phone and I'm generally pleased with it. I'm torn between the G1 and a new Win phone. The question then is simple; is the G1 worth getting? Especially now with other manufacturers beginning to produce Android phones. Is it perhaps better to wait and see what T-Mob do? Who uses a G1 here, what are your likes and dislikes? I really need to make a decision.... but can't
  4. It crossed my mind but it's not important enough right now. I'm just running a one-off scan for a specific reason. I can live with it. I just wondered if some sort of maths operator could be embedded in the BGInfo screen, divide the result by 1000000000 for example. No matter. Thanks anyway.
  5. The one thing I can't work out in BGInfo is how to format, for example, the disk size data. For example, if I use [sELECT Size FROM Win32_DiskDrive] the output is returned in the form of 160039272960 instead of the desired 160 GB. The same thing occurs with any such selected output, say for memory size, etc yet the preconfigured entry [Volumes:] outputs correctly as C:\ 72.77 GB NTFS for example. How can I achieve this formatting?
  6. OK, I booked. Was trying to make it two of us but it's only me Looking forward to it now.
  7. Yes, I'd prefer to do this, but if Thursday night is going to be better for 'networking' then I'll drive up at the crack of dawn on Thursday.
  8. My employers will only stump up for one night's hotel :-( What's best - Wednesday or Thursday from a networking point of view? Wednesday I'd guess?
  9. What's the 'form'? How many are staying Wednesday night? How Many are staying Thursday night? Both nights? Any chance of a show of hands?
  10. As per normal for me I've only just come across this event. Is it still OK to register?
  11. The walls are blockwork lined with 10mm plasterboard and skimmed so should be OK?
  12. We're looking to install 3 x boards in a new building; I have two questions: 1. What's the minimum floor - ceiling height requirement for a 78" Promethean AB+2? In two rooms we have plenty of clearance but in the other only 2.3 metres - is this enough? If it's not enough then what's the largest +2 board that we can use, if any? 2. Promethean state that the AB+2 can only be installed by an accredited and Promethean trained installer. Why is this? For years we have had all manner of AV equipment installed by a local company with excellent results and prices. Now, all of a sudden we find that this company cannot do this install as they're not accredited. What's so special about the +2 boards that necessitates this requirement?
  13. It wouldn't run I had no free time to mess around with it, if I need to use the system console, which is rarely, I'll just borrow someone elses PC It's not needed often and the main part of SIMS runs perfectly fine under W7.
  14. Just heard back from Capita. They will be supporting W7 within 6 months from official release. So, not too bad really, we can certainly live with that.
  15. NO. But I have now Thanks
  16. 32 Bit
  17. Quite. Understood but I've run .Net 3.5
  18. Well, netapi32.dll is present. Passed it on to Capita support.
  19. Nah! Had no problem with it running on Vista, even on SP2 beta. It's going to have to run on W7 at some point and this is a test run, as is W7 itself on this machine.

    SIMS problem

OK, sorry I wasn't sure which forum to post in so I posted in both. I don't normally. Apologies.

    SIMS problem

I'm also x-posting this onto the MIS forum. I upgraded my laptop to W7 RC1. Absolutely everything is fine, all settings, programs, documents, etc were migrated over by the superb W7 upgrade tool. No issues at all. SIMS loaded and ran fine, browsing the focus pages is AOK. On clicking the System link however the following error presented: “The procedure entry point I_NetNameCanonicalize could not be located in the dynamic link library NETAPI32.dll” I thought this might simply be a migration issue so I completely uninstalled SIMS and re-installed but the same error presented. Has anyone else come across this. Is there a fix?

  23. I might pop into town and see if I can actually have a look at a G1 in the shop. How does the touch screen on the G1 compare with that of the iPhone? I must admit that I really like the iPhone's screen, it's very responsive.
  24. Interestingly I currently hover between a N95 8GB and a HTC TyTynII (or whatever it's called). Presumably you find the G1 better than the N95?
