Thank goodness we have SIMS ..........
-
Strange that you think that is necessary ............ I wonder where on earth you got that idea from!
-
We have not got Sharepoint and we use SLG! Oh - and the LA are just looking into it and are consulting us on procedures! I don't think you could call us sheep!
-
Well at last ............ A post in Edugeek that I can totally agree with! I twittered back with exactly the same opinion. Does the response automatically go to the originator even if they are not following you?
-
I think a number of us would take exception to that remark ..............
-
should there not have been a not in that reply.... .... or not?
-
.... is there an echo in here .... ?????
-
It's a pretty bog standard procedure. I sure there would have been loads of folk on SupportNet that would have given same advice.
-
'Save As' to give to produce a new Report. Delete off the imported Report. Resave ('Save As') the amended Report with the Previous Name. Delete the amended Report.
-
Rather than looking for an effective date, include Filters with Fields for Employment Start and End dates - either by actual dates or other definitions (e.g. Start date is before 02/09/2009 and End date is 'null').

Had a good look at the input of non-EDI Results into EO at UAT yesterday. It looks like a superb addition to the system. At last we will be able to calculate meanigful PI Data! And the possibilities are endless. If there is an award it can be included. Though you will have to have all your details re. GCSE or GCE Equivalents, Points Scores and Discount Codes to hand before you embark on the process, to make it meaningful.
-
I am going to be UAT testing, particularly the exams area, on Tuesday. We ain't got Post-16 so I intend Updating asap to try and get the non-basedata results in for GCSE day! No upgrade has ever screwed up Exams Organiser at our place!
-
We must be very lucky here then ........... Or is it that out ICT Services team are very efficient ........... ? Most of the time I run the upgrades without even having to refer to them (and I ain't technically minded!). The only issues I have are those that are known about anyway and the info is on SupportNet.

You can publish the Cover Summary to html and publish this on a shared drive or intranet. Those on Cover have their assignment automatically written to their timeline on SIMS Homepage. I would advise you to move from NT4 to Cover7 for September. NT4 Cover is no longer supported by Capita and will be switched off in the not too distant future.
-
Your CR actually requested it to be included in V.7 so I guess it won't even be comsidered until then ...
-
If I were you then I would never repeat that last statement in front of our Admin Support Staff!
-
NT4 type Reporting is supposed to be one of the Prorities of the Base Release of SIMS Reporting (SQL Server 2008), which is due in March. Until then good old NT4 will be used for all complex Timetables and Group Reports, by my goodself ! It will also be available for a fair period of time AFTER the new Reporting goes live.
-
The August Release also allows you to input Data for Qualifications with no basedata so that it can be included in the PI Data report. If you have time that is! One wonders why there are complaints re errors on Exams Organiser if Cases are not raised with SupportNet ....... Strange ...........

Dan, If I were you I would try and find a school, that is fairly local and successfully uses Profiles, to visit. It is an excellent product but it is not easy to just pick up and use with no pre-knowledge. Have you been on one of the trining courses? Afraid we are a long way away but I am sure there must be a willing school that is closer to you.
-
I reckon that everybody knows already .............
-
Great minds think alike eh Dancer? Or is it something about fools ........................... ?
-
Dancer, That screenshot looks remarkedly familiar! Simon Mine has pupils in Rows! And is filtered by Reg Group! Just change the Column to Total and see what happens! (Mine I mean!)
-
'Very very god in deed' Should that not have a capital letter.....??
-
Those of you who have SLG (or hosted SLG) - would you buy it again?
Sivadam replied to pete's topic in MIS Systems
Bad Question! No I would not buy it. Yes I would buy into Capita Hosted Service. The best advice is to opt for a Hosted Service. If you buy it then who would support it? Microsoft? I reckon that is where many issues lie! DM - it is early days yet. Have you seen the Roadmap? Contacts have to be up to date and accurate anyway - else you have a missive problem in all aspects of SIMS. And we provisioned by Year - after checking the Contact Details! You then just have to add newcomers from time to time. As for the Report. Why don't you edit it so that it includes Filters? You can sort it via Names, Reg Groups etc. just like any other report in SIMS. You just clone the original, add in any sub-reports you want (e.g. Student!) add filters and, possibly, design a new Template. -
Now that I have upgraded to June Release I will have to investigate producing another report that produces the Net Points over a date range. Before today it was not possible but now, according to the documentation, it should be! Mind you - the documentation said I could not produce the Total points per Pupil over a date range for Ach and for Beh - but my reports, indicated above, do just that!
