Our Senior Managers make a note of which Reports (or Sections of) are not approved and then inform the relevant staff. Yes there should be an automatic alert sent to these staff but this is a relatively new innovation. Maybe you should log a CR on SupportNet! We have found that, despite the problem you highlight, the checking process has speeded up greatly since the Review Mode was introduced.

We are also a SIMS Partnership School and might be interested under similar arrangements. I just happen to be the Timetabler too! However, I would only cooperate with legitimate SIMS Partners and I cannot find your name on any of the Partnership Lists. Can you please enlighten us a little?

Can't think of a quick way but you could always produce a Year Report with Photographs on. With the photos reduced by a big %age, obviously, else it might take a very very long time to run and could even time out!

If the pupils are still assigned to the Groups in Course Manager after this date then it looks like the Timetable has not been sent with appropriate Start/End dates. This would be just one error that has caused loss of all class memberships. Had it been in Course Management then the same error would have had to be repeated in all Courses to have the same effect. The Timetable may need re-sending from NT6 with new start dates and end dates. You could do this with the most recent dataset if you know which that is (it should load automatically if you select that option!). The correct way to edit the Timetable, however, is via a new Maintenance Data Set. But you will have to create this from a date that has the correct version of the timetable in SQL (say the day before the problem first occurs). You can always edit the start date (forwards) of the new Timetable Maintenance Dataset before it is re-sent to SQL from NT6. It may also be that the Timetable needs to be re-applied after this (obviously from the new Start date). One word of warning - re-applying the Timetable will probably wipe out any Attendance/Absence Marks already input into SIMS for dates after the new Timetable start date - as will any Cover arrangements already in place for after the new start date! Back Up before attempting any of this! If the pupils don't have Memberships after 3rd February and the Timetable dates are correct then each course can be edited by scheme - not each pupil individually. They just need extending from the 2nd to the end (I assume) of the year.

Exactly! It has been happening a long time. It is one of the reasons I started contributing. One does suspect that some of the posts that appear are, to say the least, mischevious! I probably defend Capita more than I normally would as a direct result of some of these posts, which I completely disagree with!

This comment seems to be a little at variance with:- Though I guess you will, no doubt, quantify the difference between 'very good' and 'brilliant'. I retract my statement above and replace it with:- 'SIMS is Brilliant!'

In that case you should know how very, very, very GOOD SIMS is .............. And why hide behind clues? Got something to hide? If I think Capita have got something wrong then I tell 'em - personally. No need to make snide comments behind their back!

I wonder why it works 'properly' here ................... Oooooooooooo! Now I wonder whose MIS you use? Could it be one of those that does not even date stamp the data, or the one that does not even store pupil addresses in the correct format, or the one that quite a lot of our staff managed to escape from in previous schools, or ..... ???? Or maybe you are not even a school at all! There is certainly not much detail attached to your profile!

One would hope that those who can do better can avoid Big Brother ......... ....... well until I retire anyway!

One assumes that you are talking about SIMS Discover. Check the Twitter account for Graham Cooper. (Can't post the URL here at the moment as our Broadband provider blocks Twitter!) Or could it be the new NT4 type reporting? The first phase (I attended the intial testing but cannot attend the next testing or the Spring UAT) is due out in (I believe) Spring.

After what I had to put up with a few weeks ago on here, one wonders why these political posts by Suppliers are not either moderated or removed ................. .... one would almost wonder if these Forums are themselves politically biased .....

I reckon it would be no contest and Nero would be offering a thumbs down to all but SIMS! It would certainly sound the death knoll to some of the upstarts!

I think that, eventually, this functionality will be included within SLG. And it might not be that far over the horizon either. It would not surprise me if Schoolcomms was involved in this in some way or other.
