Ghost is much easier to setup and deploy via laptop than RIS or WDS .. All you do is make the image and deploy.. no problems... I am talking about Multicasting and not remote deploy.. that is take the laptop into the room and run from there..

You do not need RIS nor 3COM boot services.. Simplist way is Install Ghost Multicast ? Server ? on a laptop (laptop must be on network) Make a perfect build with everything on Take off of the network and rename Make Ghost Boot Disk with boot disk maker in Ghost on the Laptop Start ghost multicast on laptop.. go through easy session setup Boot PC with boot disk and upload image pt 2 Take laptop to room where PC's are ready for cloning Plug laptop into network and start Ghost Multicast Boot all PC's with boot disk Join Multicasst session And all PC's will be cloned.. Run NewSID when adding to network and naming PC's

help :-) Just been told by the Buffalo helpdesk they do not support server operating systems on client OS's Managed to Map the TERASTATION USING THE \\IP\SHARE.. but Backupexec is refusing to use the IP as it says invalid char and the mapping doesn't work because it says "THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE PATH SPECIFIED"

Any idea why it takes 14 Hours to back up 140gb with NTBackup onto the TeraStation ? Does the Terastation have a Gig Network Card or 100mps.. and how long would 140gb take to go through a 100mps ? Also managed to add it to the Domain by upgrading the fimrmware to 1.4... went a bit postal so put it back down to workgroup... now it says from the DC Server (that I am working on the Terastation from) that this station is not authorised to connect ?!?! eh? .. yet from my PC I cna connect to the share ..?

Hi I am trying to add the Terastation to the Domain but a few of the fields do not allow me to enter data.. AD Full Domain AD Full Domain Controller AD Administrator Name AD Administrator Password So it fails in adding to the domain.. I am now in a WORKGROUP mode with Delegate Authority to External SMB Server ticked. But there's more I mapped the "Backup" share to "M" on the file server with Backupexec installed .. but when I try to create a Backup-to-Disk Folder in Backup Exec to the share on "M" it says "The System cannot find the path specified".. Yet can access the drive OK from Windows Explorer.. Any Ideas ?

Yes you get the £600 000.00 at the start.. Subtract the £120 000.00 for Basic Managed Services.. you have £380 000.00 Then you invest in CCTV, Access Control, Servers, New ICT Suites, MIS, Network Infrastructure, IWB's Projectors etc ... really there is nothing left from the £380 000.00 infact there will be a shortfall like at most places.... (as you will be restricted in where you can purchase equiptment from and there will be no ICT Manager to check up on the costs) The BSF Consultants told me that there would be only funding for the first year and the other years the school must find it's own funding.. So if the school spent their money on upgrading that's thier choice as they would be in a 5 year contract with the MSC...

Bottom line is.. The first year is paid for by the BSF and the other 4 years the school has to find it's own funding.. So if you get a school of 1200 Students at £100 per child thats £120 000.00 per year.. just for the basic Managed Services.. The school then has to find £480 000.00 for the next 4 years out of it's own pocket. This is the basic.. this is without PC's being new purchased after 3 years and no legacy equiptment being supported, nor any additional support like damage..

I with the help of Geoff setup Shadow copy on the main files server where the Students and staff folders are.. I set it up to run at midnight.. But how does it work.. I tried to recover a deleted file but there was nothing there when i right mouse clicked ?
