We are using local profiles .. and I did delete the Default User and every other profile apart from the All Users.. which is empty... Plus bvefore I started I Rangerremoved and then deleted the Ranger Profiles..

I did.. removed all the profiles from the Documents and settings folder .. even the hidden ones... And then logged on as a domain user and the ranger" lockdowns were still enforced? What ranger settings did you change ?

Right Click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management But If you don't know what a dynamic disk is are you sure that you have the skils and knowledge to make the disks into Raids ? Are these servers active ?

Hi When I build a new build and log on without installing Ranger the PC acts notally and a user can modify the desktop.. If I add Ranger and they are a member of the Staff Group they get the staff Desktop, with ICons and unable to copy or save to the desktop.. (which is how it should be) But If I take Ranger off of the PC the user does not get the modifyable desktop as before Ranger was installed .. They get the default Ranger Desktop and cannot save, modify or find the normal programs.. But Ranger has been uninstalled .. so why cannot the user modify the desktop.. I deleted all the profiles but still this default destop with restrictions keeps enforcing itself.... Any IDEAS ON HOW i CAN STOP THIS ?

Rus You cannot stop retrenchment.. i.e. 5 Techies replaced by 1 BSF / LEA Techie... All you can hope for is a decent redundancy package.. Purge What you need to do is remotely uninstall Ranger Remote from all the PC's in the Suite Lockdown Then you need to set up a security key Deploy The you deploy the Client back out to all the PC's Security The you install the Tutor / Teacher Client onto the Teachers PC with a password and Security key.. Done

We are doing the easiest way and sitprep is getting slightly complicated.. Just do a good build and roll it out without Sitprep and there is no little work or any config files to configure.. Just run NewSID when naming the PC's

Ghost is the EASIST.... 1/ Make good build 2/ Make Boot Disks with Ghost 3/ Upload good build with Ghost Multicast to Laptop 4/ Take Laptop into Suite and start Ghost Multicast on Laptop boot pc's with boot disks and deploy image to all PC's 6/ Run NewSID and name all PC's and add to Domain.. This is the easisit and fastest way to build a suite of the same PC spec and build.

I think edsa is looking for a server based imaging solution using PXE booting and the reason I would use ghost is that it offers multicast image deployment whereas RIS/WDS is a unicast technology. I thought that too... but reading his posts I see that he just wants to rollout as easy as possible.. and if you are not all WDS and RIS sussed Ghost is the easiest and simplist way to deploy images.. I mean I have been in IT for 7 years and RIS or WDS still confuses me...
