Ok after a lot of Research I am getting a Desktop colour photocopier that has a keypad lock when Printing in Colour....

We are having prolems installing RRC9 on a new suite of PC's.. First we tried to remotedeploy and that failed then we logged on as domain admin and got the first error.. (picture Ranger 9.1) Then we tried to remote deploy again from a server as a domain admin we got errors and it asks for a passwordi (Picture 2 RRC9) Then when I try to map to the \\machinename\c$ I get a logon failure... yet the PC is there and working fine.. (Picture 2 RRC9) Any Ideas on whats going on ?

Yes CFP "Computers for Pupils"... Any supplier 20% cheaper than "The Chosen Company" RM.. yet we are forced to buy from RM... ?!? Or the NHS ICT Rollout... 4 years over due and massive problems .. yet they say it's going OK and is best for everyone.... bit like the BSF..

It is a con that Macs are Industry standard... they aren't.. I would suggest a Core 2 Duo PC with 4gb RAM and Serif Software for the Media Course... Ecomomic... reliable and good...

PIng sends a packet to a device or server with a reply to see it's available... Ping with IP sees that the Network card is working.. Ping with Name sees that DNS is working.. Also what your supplier does and does not do depends on the SLA that you have with them...

Wish I could .. there is a program on the PC that has to be running all the time and there is one user logon and theya re logged on all day with other users using to Program on the PC

If you have SIMS or Bromcom you can use Moblile Phone SIM cards in a PDA to take register and upload it... without any need for any network being installed or extended... Work out the cost of the Wireless network and work out the cost of the Mobile PDa and you'll see it's a lot cheaper and easier to use the Mobile PDA Love your Edit... speaks volumes about the future of ICT in Schools..

A lot of time supplier promise you the world yet when push comes to shove do not have the technical expertise to fix the problem... Your NM should be on the phone to the Suppliers and threatening to get them black listed with the LEA and other counties... What is staggering is that the NM has not been able to get the network back up after 2 weeks... You still do not give information of to what the status of the servers are ? 1/ Do the servers start ? 2/ Can the NM log onto the Servers 3/ Can you ping the servers IP from the Client PC's ? 4/ Can you ping the servers name from the Client PC's ? 5/ Do you have a redundant spare server ? We all as NM's have a LOT of work on our plates but our Job is to make sure the Network is Stable and get it up again within a day or two if it falls over...

Christ man... you have to install SQL set up a database with Prmissions.. then edit some page in the MLHD and then try to install .. Then to get it to work with the users not having to additionly log on to MLHD you have to edit some other php page... I am not a webhead and I don't know the first thing about editing php pages and I really do not want to have to learn... Not simple like running a setup.exe and it puts a short cut on your desktop...

We just want this stand alone PC with a colour Laser attached to have printing restrictions so that only the supervisor can print.. with a password or pin.. There are no laptops involved.. the printer cannot be accessed from any other PC

Hi.. I am looking for a small program that I can load onto a stand alone PC taht will not allow users to print unless they put in a pin or something .. Any Ideas ?

You need to approach your MP or the DTI and lobby them to do something about the affects of the BSF on small businesses.. and that the Education ICT Support sector will soon be a monopoly and thus killing of many small EDucation ICT companies around the country....
