  1. They are the third biggest MIS and only just behind Arbor, to not consider them must mean you have discounted them by some criteria probably around reputation. It maybe unfair to not give them the chance to pitch and answer your concerns.
  2. Have a look at Windows Fast Startup and disable it if its on.
  3. Your CV and application should have provided the employer with your experience and level of knowledge. The practical assessment is almost certainly to show how you approach a problem. It has the additional use of weeding out chancers who lie on their CV and have a story prepared for the "give an example of" type interview questions.
  4. Try this Restricting registration to Azure AD MFA from trusted locations with Conditional Access policy – 4sysops
  5. Not back till Monday and everything working fine so far. Just done a classroom sweep to make sure PCs power up and interactive boards have the latest firmware. I swear the people of Chernobyl left their homes tidier at evacuation than some of the teachers have left their workstations.
  6. Theres a group policy that will sign in the user to onedrive. IT Admins - Use OneDrive policies to control sync settings - SharePoint in Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Learn
  7. As bad as forced password changes are I don't understand why you set a password for the users. Are you not able to just force a change next time the user logs in? Actively setting the user password of an existing user to something known by other people is a huge security issue.
  8. When ever I see one of these I always think the driver does waste management in (New) Jersey. Make sure you drive it round with "woke up this morning" blaring out the stereo.
  9. Is the allow rule a separate CA policy? I think you may have to exclude the users from the deny policy and have them only in the policy that allows certain countries. The 'allow' policy should also block access but have exception for the countries you want.
  10. This sounds like the quota is being applied to a parent folder rather than the individual student folders. This may help Create an Auto Apply Quota | Microsoft Learn
  11. Many years ago in my supermarket shelf filling days I would often open a case of own brand butter/marge and half way down the label would switch to that of a different supermarket.
  12. What features of O365 do you want? If its just the desktop apps you can get Office 2021 or Office LTSC.
  13. Can they provide the urls in plain text and does your filtering solution allow bulk importing of urls by txt file?
  14. We have trilby, our displays are android based so they run the Tribly client natively, keeps power mangement nice and simple. The TVs launch the client on power on.
  15. So this is between year transitions and not primary to secondary? The students will maybe have seen the teachers around school anyway or possibly know their names?
  16. I remember him as Egg from This Life, Currently watching 3 Body Problem and Fallout, Re-watching Dexter, re-visiting Inside No9 as I have some early season missed episodes and stopped around season 4.
  17. If you enjoy Valheim then you should look at Enshrouded.
  18. It should just be the case of blocking the YouTube category but having a white list further up the list with the specific URLs you want to allow. That working in the simplest form but I wouldn't call it effective as you have to white list each URL and you can't do a whole channel in one go, only individual videos.
  19. A side effect of how Chromebooks work. Where as with other OSes you'd see various functions cease to work on an outdated system in a gradual manner, e.g. OneDrive deprecated on Win7 or Chrome stuck on an old version. With Chromebooks because they are so heavily integrated with Googles infrastructure the thing that now doesn't work just happens to be the thing that you need to use the device at all. I can see similar happening in years to come with Win11 because of the forced MS account required to set it up.
  20. You can take a look at this PowerShell script to change OneDrive file attributes - Programming & Development - Spiceworks Community as a starting point. I used to do something similar when OneDrive was slow to sync files. However I have found it vastly improved over the last 18 months or so.
  21. We see this occasionally, Shared activation and roaming profiles. Deleting the user.dat fixes it.
  22. The CMA are looking into the database export tactic. https://schoolsweek.co.uk/competition-watchdog-launches-another-probe-into-sims/
  23. Wired Radius would be one option but requires switch and port configuration as well as additional NPS set up. Depending on the target users here I'd go with a Login page for wired connections to encourage use of the WiFi and avoid wear and tear on network ports.
  24. Is this what they mean by hidden in plain sight?
