I had been waiting to update to 10.6 for a while, as it is my main business machine and I wanted as many bug's as possible ironed out first. I thought I would take this oppourtunity to do the upgrade, so my MacBook Pro is now happily running OSX 10.6.2 minus NetSupport! Thanks for your help

Cheers mate, in the NS folder in my Applications folder, there isn't anything - just empty so can't try the old package contents trick. I may have to find an installer from somewhere and give that a shot! Thanks

Is it possible to un-install the NetSupport client from an OSX machine easily? I had it installed onto my MacBook Pro as a demonstration whilst on site with a client a while ago, and now I cant seem to get rid of it no matter what I try. It's not restricting anything and I won't be returning to said client, so no data will be uploaded back to them, but it's frustrating me sitting in my menu bar! Attached screenshot so show exact version etc. Thanks Tom

True(ish) I don't know of a way to change the root password via USB, but I did mine by SSH'ing into the device over Wifi. Seemed much easier than typing all of the commands in the strange mobile version of terminal! Tom

Another benefit with the O2 deal that I mentioned earlier is top up rewards. If you top up £15 in the month, you qualify for a gold reward. These are usually, free weekend calls to any number (for the next weekend), free voicemail for a month, free month of calls to other o2 phones etc. May not sound a lot but they can actually be quite handy.

Do you specifically want to be with T-Mobile? My girlfriend has my old iPhone with an O2 Text And Web SIM in it (PAYG). So long as she tops up by £15 per month she gets unlimited (12,000) texts and unlimited (I think 500MB), of data. Which when I was looking around was the most amount of free unlimited PAYG data available. Round here O2 has MUCH better signal coverage than T-Mobile as well. Tom

Once I had got rid of the Mk1 Focus I spoke about earlier, we had an A4 Cabriolet - the easiest thing in the world to change a headlight bulb on, so much space to work with. Now I have a Volvo V70 (cue the pipe and slipper jokes), but it has Xenon's so have to take it somewhere to have them changed professionally. Not worth the risk of doing it myself as you can potentially mess up an expensive to replace system.

I used to have a Mk1 Ford Focus, which on one side was an awful job to do. Battery box in the way needed taking out, and then if you had wrists bigger than a pencil, forget it! Must be a Ford thing :-)

There used to be a bloke in my village that got properly drunk (insane amounts), every single night of the week and drove home. He had lost his licence at least two, possibly three, times before over drink driving but this didn't seem to bother him one bit. Not that this is any worse as such, as even a 10 second journey could be fatal, but he used to go on a grand pub tour to Peterborough and back (20 miles away from the village at the time), and how he wasn't in an accident I never will know. I, as well as just about everybody else reported him repeatedly, to the point it just got silly. The police knew where he would be each night and at what time, but still didn't seem to show. I remember being in a pub with him and a police car was driving by continuously after a report (obviously waiting for him to leave), but when he left they were nowhere to be found. :mad: The only one time I saw him leave the car, was when there were police at the pub (for a completely different matter).

I could possibly add that I don't actually use many jailbroken applications from Cydia etc, but use it mainly for the unlock (for which I currently use ultrasn0w). The only JB apps I do use: iBlacklist - not so much for blocking, but for filtering calls/SMS from work or home at certain times. SBSettings - quick access to certain things And then a few different SBSettings add-ons to aid functionality.

Yes, have had mine JB'd since day 1 (iPhone 2G, and now 3G). I used QuickPWN on the Mac and always have done, never had a problem with it either.

Anything to get out of paying out eh? A mate of mine had a Fiesta when we were 17, nothing special by any means, but he had put a load of stickers/graphics all over the sides. Some of these designs were considered as advertising when he had an accident, and hence the car was obviously being used for business purposes (which it wasn't). Not only did they not pay out on the claim, but he got done with having something like unrepresentative insurance. I can't remember the exact term, it wasn't no insurance, but the penalties were exactly the same. Glad to hear your all right though James, road collisions are never a nice thing.

I must admit the passenger + luggage allowance would have to be done in a certain way, but for people that really are terribly overweight, I don't think it's fair. I know this could cause a lot of arguments, but still..... As for what counts as average, again, who knows how this could be done - but that gentleman is very definitely, not, average.
