  3. 4. Ricoh is another not yet mentioned. They charged the same for A4 and A3.
  5. We wanted the background to change colour for FSM students....wasn’t possible Do you use the photo option? Possibly edit the picture for said student, however that is pulled from the MIS normally
  6. We outsource the installation to one of 2 companies. Why, because our site team aren’t perfectionists compared to the installers and we’d rather it done properly. One or two they did do you end up with a wonky projection. The latest purchase was 3 x 85 inch smart board screens, no way I’d want to get involved in them. The installers know what they are doing, what battening to add, where to run cables etc.
  7. Some shops you get a whiff of things as you pass. We did a boat tour, great way to see the sights and view Amsterdam from the water
  8. Connect a laptop to the network that isnt on cc4 and I suspect it will also be restricted
  9. https://capita-mailer.co.uk/1WXN-5WQUX-62GPQUY144/cr.aspx Update from Capita SIMs
  10. Last year... no idea. this year the Media Dept are supplying us with a Camera, tripod and Hard Drive that contains the recordings. As soon as we get the kit, I can let you know how good it is etc and what we have. The same kit will be used for Drama productions too
  11. Fully aware... we have tried to get this across to SBM. Not planned for within the build. It is 3 classrooms been knocked into one with movable walls (which are staying open when it is used for Cover) The more techy the laptop.... the less the battery is going to last. Thanks, will look at Dells config system to see if this is an option. We have lessons that use CS6. I am S.Tech here... its the NM who has to get this across. AP's have been spec'd, as for charging.... still trying to work out how this is happening. They need to be on timers too, no point having them on charge from Fri 4pm to Mon 8am. Yep...120 laptops plugging in to charge every night, its a boring task doing 16 ipads. To repeat, this room is going to be managed by the Cover Staff, would your staff be up to this?
  12. To answer a few questions, Laptops are staying in this room. Room is also going to be used for Lets, so hence the portability and moving of desks. The way the timetable has now been changed to, we have a rolling lunch time (so students are not all on lunch at the same time) I'm fully aware of the dream spec, just trying to find out if such an item exists. No, we were not consulted before the rooms plans were drawn up, only once buildign work had started.
  13. So we have a new Cover room being built, SBM has her heart set on Laptops, all on wifi to be used throughout the day. Requirements are: Laptops Batteries that can be removed (charged separately if needed) and will last a whole day, every day for their life span (ok I am dreaming here) Keyboards easy to swap (if keys get broken etc) touch screens i5 or i7 spec Oh and we will be buying 120 of the things. Charging, we will need spare batteries and a battery charging unit.... if these still exist. Happy to hear from suppliers (via PM) and others that have experience of this. I havent seen the room layout, but my understanding is the laptops cant be charged while being used as they will be on desks with no power sockets.
  14. We have a few, some are Benq. If you need more info, can take pics tomorrow
  15. We have changed our mind regarding the TV idea. The cupboard is about 10ft deep/wide. Issue we saw related to the other things stored in this room, table tennis tables and other stuff. We don’t want to spend £XXXX and then have it damaged all for 40 minutes of assemblies a week
  16. Brentwood Communications we use. Poss more expensive than what you want to,spend but decent signal and quality
  17. changed our mind....
  18. I’d say extra work, not too much or you will be knackered and main work will suffer. Another option is buying stuff from charity shops or car boot sales and selling on ebay.
  19. I did it printing decent scaled pics via google images. After 5 weeks I was bored of ICT so decided to do something different. I did a display a few years ago directly outside our office of computer definitions I acquired from TES, 30 years of Windows OS and famous ICT people.
  20. Thanks guys, I finished it on Friday, I have a picture on my phone so will add it to here. Not my best efforts, not 100% but it is way better than the black board that has been on the stairwell at the end of the corridor for years.
  21. Ive added Out Run Deflector
  22. Right, thinking caps on, copy and paste and add to the list below. What games do you think are classics that students would recognise, I am trying to do a display quickly. so far I have pictures of: Asteroids Donkey Kong Fifa Lemmings Mario Pacman Ping/Pong Sonic Street Fighter Tetris
  23. Asking the masses as I have no idea. In laws own a mechanic garage which is still in the dark ages when it comes to invoicing and VAT returns. They have been told in 6 months time they need to be computerised regarding VAT returns and TAX stuff. So, SAGE can do quite a lot but one question, how much information do they need from customers to be able to complete an invoice on the system. Can small businesses have SAGE online, what get stored locally? If anyone can advise I may have more questions
  24. @Matzo no, went to recycling heaven on Tuesday
  25. They are fitting the green boxes with break glass and linked to the fire alarm system. It will be interesting how it goes down with teachers. As we in ICT were not consulted it means the network points are not near or don’t exist! Unsure when they will be all up and running but it will mean classrooms left unlocked until they are all set up.
