  1. Been on the hunt for some pupil laptops for a while, just not seen many decent deals. Had a quote I was holding on until Cybermonday for some lenovos, 340 per device + 33 warranty. Not great but not terrible for i5s, 8gb. On Cybermonday alternative supplier had the same model for 310 + warranty included free on top. Laptops turn up, 16gb variant.. win. The initial supplier was very eager to price match.. i didn't hear back from him..
  2. So you can have them added via DEP so they'll appear automatically in your apple config and you then assign them to Lightspeed? Need to give the supplier your organisation ID from apple config and add their reseller ID to your Apple config
  3. Are you direct with Jamf or a reseller? My licenses were with Sync and now KRCS both £5 per device, only moved to the latter as the former didn't come close on iPad pricing.
  4. £5 per device for both, Mosyle used to have 3 year deal which brings the price down.
  5. Mosyle is another option, I've used both Mosyle and Jamf. I prefer Jamf but Mosyle isn't far behind, there may also still be a free version. Edit: Mosyle is free for up to 30 devices..
  6. All null and void if they forget their laptop or the teacher is ill.. Plus there is usually always time before a lesson to do just that..
  7. Teachers all have laptops, some HLTA's and admin's have them also. Classes mostly have AiO or miniPc's hooked up to the board depending on class. Don't think I'd want to deal with the laptop being used both as a class machine & for home use.. teacher not in/forgets laptop/cycles to work or some cheeky ones when they realise they can just pinch the spares when they need it.
  8. Should be able to get Jamf for £5 per license, at least the two suppliers (SYNC/KRCS) I've been with that's always been the default price.
  9. Ah okay, usually the only issue I've faced when recovering is after it's refreshed sometimes the iPad is locked to an apple account with find my iphone on. Putting the iPad into recovery mode then connecting it to itunes should work. Don't connect it till you have the recovery symbol appear on the iPad.
  10. Surprised the itunes restore doesn't work, what happens when you do that?
  11. You probably won't be able to download the profile as you've removed it from Moysle/Apple school manager. to reset Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase all Contents and Settings other option is to use the apple recovery method using itunes.
  12. Are you looking to set this up as an iPad independent of Mosyle? You'd likely need to remove it from your apple school manager. Otherwise resetting the iPad manually on the device should work and bring back Mosyle possibly. Depends on how it's been configured. Apple configurator/Itunes recovery are also options.
  13. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-ideapad-5i-slim-14-intel-13620h-16gb-ddr5-512gb-fhd-oled-hdr500-no-os-ps49495-at-lenovo-4164412 Not Amazon but felt it was the deal of the day, opted for the I5 version worked out at 337 per device after vat. Unfortunately cc has hit it's limit so couldn't get more than 3 and Lenovo won't quote directly on 'megadeals' The spontaneous plan was to buy 14 of these, take in a load of old staff laptops refresh them for a pupil trolley and new overpowered devices for staff..

    Budget gaming PC

Would second this, could combine with Gamepass Ulti and use cloud streaming which I use most of the time now.
  15. I've been using CBTnuggets which I've found great so far. Has virtual labs etc/Mock exams etc.
  16. Yeah, 10 techs! used to be 3 so in my previous place ended up paying for more. I don't use the knowledgebase/submit a ticket via the website. they just need to send an email and it comes through nicely. Free version only allows one though, so you can't have finance/Site etc unless you make separate ones or pay!
  17. Freshdesk has a free plan and pretty easy to use. up to 10 agents Email notifications of new tickets/assigned etc.
  18. Ah not sure then, I'd assume you've added their reseller ID, passed them your Organisation ID?
  19. Are these purchased new iPhones? If so you could get them added via DEP through the reseller. If they're not new, i.e refurbished are they on IOS 16? as that I believe is the required IOS for both the phone with configurator on and the device being configured.
  20. We use a local shop, my colleague has used for them years and I don't think we've ever had an issue with their replacement (Batteries/Screens). Last time it was a brand new 9th gen, was £20 or so more than we paid for it new (290?). From the same reseller. Local shop was £60 with a year warranty or something.
  21. Initially I thought it might have been that but for him to delete 200+ folders/ documents within the minute/two it had listed when none of the deleted folders were top level or even 2nd or third level. A good 20-30 folders were deleted in the format below for instance. Folder - Pupil Name a-q - Pupil name - Folder - Deleted folders. It wasn't just stuff that had recently been done either, some of the deleted stuff was months old but some new stuff remained etc. My current guess is when he logged in, his OneDrive sync hadn't finished syncing from Friday when he shutdown (we use files on demand) it then for some bizarre reason decided to be the dominant sync and delete everything it didn't have.
  22. Hi Psydii, Not that I can think of, just the home drive. Senso/Active backup of Sharepoint/Onedrive but that doesn't include the shortcuts after checking. He also has two other shortcuts from other document libraries but neither of these had an issue. (Likely setup a while ago though) He is one of a select few users that have the 365 apps version of office and I've recently noticed we have the enterprise monthly updates. So our version of Onedrive for these users is part of the insider programme I think? I.e my ver is 23.071.0402.0001 Wondering if that might be a possibility..
  23. Hi, Had a very weird issue first thing this morning and discovered it when a staff member came to me saying some files were missing in SP, I found these via our 365 backup rather than wade through the recycle bin. I checked the recycle bin after and realised a lot of folders/documents had been deleted all by a single user. All at the same time but no 'top level' folders. Looked completely random but also physically impossible for the user to do it by accident or hell even intentionally. I can't see any suspicious logs for the user in azure but did reset their password. The user said they added this document library(One folder deep) as a shortcut to their Onedrive on friday. This morning around the time it happened they logged onto their desktop. I'm assuming it was the new shortcut but why on earth would that take priority and delete literally 200+ folders.. any ideas?
  24. I think I've seen that AD in question a few times, it's for one of those dreadful mobile games if I recall correctly.
  25. I think I tried this but didn't get anywhere, I ended up configuring a featured link that would appear for all users with a link to our SP.
