How would that work with windows licensing? Assuming you would need to wipe the device and put windows home edition on it?

Schools broadband don't offer any offsite filtering capability, what are you using to meet the requirements for offsite filtering using school managed devices?

As long as you have a DPIA, should be covered.

I think it has to be specifically agreed to, a DPIA should be created for every website that contains students data.

Could you imagine people saying an alarm in case of fire is too costly, or doesn't cover all areas perfectly. You shouldn't use your fire alarm system, you should implement a separate alarm system at whatever cost is required.. These conversations are only happening because schools are refusing to pay for the correct solution. Nobody will mistake an alarm that says "Intruder, lock down"

The point is a fire alarm works well, so don't reinvent what isn't broken. Use a different alarm system with notably different sounds, or spoken word. These should also be external on site, and with flashing lights. Your computer notifications and loud speaker phone solutions won't be heard on the sports fields, or catering staff carrying things between sites.

I really don't understand why places keep trying to reinvent the wheel with these emergency procedures, if the fire alarm was invented today it would be a message sent out to your computer 🙄

Don't get quotes and base off that, these external companies are set up differently.. they make money in different ways like supplying equipment that they then sell to the schools, they charge consultancy fees for separate services not in the contracts.

How do they charge for HR or Finance staff? How do they charge for the quality team etc.. Why is it not the same? If it's anything like previous MATs I have worked then you'll have an ever increasing Finance department that seems to have no trouble finding the money for staff.

Yes, just today I have had a few staff experience the same. It's when the agent can't verify the user, I've checked and the users my end have disappeared from our filtering policies. I don't know what SBB are doing, I thought it was just us.

You have to put a statement on the website, and if you read the statement you need to declare all content that is not compliant.. so unless you want to update this statement every single time you make a change that is non-accessible then you have to start following the standards.

I recently tested out the mini and was not impressed, our filtering was blocking the TPM attestation and nobody could help provide the correct URL to bypass. Service provided was ok. We have 100 of the Flexbook laptops in operation and so far the reception has been good, only 1 has been sent back for repairs and it was a quick turnaround. I am looking to roll out the Micro computers as teaching machines, I have been provided one to test and although it seems quite loud it's impressive for the price. After being disappointed with the way DELL handle everything nowadays, it's quite refreshing to be able to obtain affordable machines and be able to speak directly with the manufacturer.

OSDCloud is for windows installation, intune is for managing your domain etc.. including naming.

With intune you name the machine when you enrol it, so every time you refresh the computer / install windows etc.. it will automatically pick up the same name.

You can have the door in the shot, just not viewing of the toilet inside. Usually Vandalism can be narrowed down to a set time frame.

I don't understand why you, and parents / news articles are insinuating the cctv is literally in the cubicles.. there is no mention of this. Don't advise schools to not put cctv in toilets, it's perfectly acceptable as long as the toilets are to the new standard i.e.. Shared use with enclosed cubicles and communal sink area. No camera should be pointing inwards of the cubicles.
