Yeah, same version here. Impero does it now and then, but it's usually an oddity. Drive seems to have a paddy every time now! Playing with chrome versions, as the app install task sequence even when run on an already deployed system tries to reinstall that, so worth a shout!

It's installed at that point yes; however wouldn't think it's the issue if it works when installing manually but not when installing via litetouch after the windows install is complete.

Afternoon good folks! Come across an anomaly which I'm struggling to get past. Using MDT which has Just Worked (tm) since day dot. Recently started getting WIndows 11 24H2 builds going, however they all now fall over when installed the Google Drive client (googledrivesetup.exe). No errors, nothing in event viewer, nothing. The installer client is running in taskmanager, and killing it then completes the build. I've recreated the application in MDT to no avail. I suspect, but alas cannot prove this is only since the most recent version. It also does it when just running it as an app install via litetouch with windows already installed, however the exact same command line to install it just works. All other applications install absolutely fine. Installing via litetouch on one of the older Windows 10 machines also fails in the same way (well it doesn't fail, it just sits running googledrivesetup.exe and doing precisely nothing) Command line being used is googledrivesetup.exe --silent --skip_launch_new and have also tried just --silent to rule out an issue there. PDQ Deploy installs it just fine - using exactly the same source file. I'm at a loss on this, is there something I'm missing? MDT seems to be the sticking point!

Awesome devices, purely jealous that it's an approach no-one else is willing to take It's worth noting that by "schools and colleges" they're very much referring to the US market where students will mostly be supplying their own; I'd only think they'd be workable as 1:1 devices in the UK but cost is likely prohibitive. I mean look at this thing; anyone who's spent time trying to replace keyboards or LCD panels on anything recent will be salivating at the idea of. I love HP's youtube teardowns and the increased availability of schematics that have come about thanks to Right to Repair, but even that's limited help when you've got a trackpad & keyboard that's permanently part of the upper chassis, or you've spent seemingly hours picking bits of that ruddy pull-tape glue used on the screens My favourite job outside of edu was easily working in a refurbishment & recycling facility; my job was to go through pallets of laptops and make as many good devices out of them as possible. I literally built thousands of laptops this way, and it wasn't just refurb kit, I built hundreds of brand new Dell laptops out of unused spare parts that Dell thought it easier & cheaper to recycle than put back into use. Couldn't do that any more with this current crop of crap

They've been around for a little while and hoping to see them grow, fantastic products and ideas. However not sure a school is the right market for them, I think you'd be very brave to even consider them for students! (frankly the same for staff too with the costs!)

I would avoid this company like the plague. I wrote up details on this previously complete with a teardown of their £18 devices.

It's not so much the hardware that does the gruntwork, they nearly all have the same sorts of sensors in. After tearing down a couple of cheap ones and finding out they were charging 200 quid for something you could literally put together for £20 even without buying in bulk, it all boiled down to how the software was polling and reporting the data. There's clearly more in the better ones but I'd love to know what's inside!

Being blunt, unless you go for the proper ones (Halo, Verkada), you'll be getting the same consumer grade rubbish. If you need them, you need to pay for them.

Backlight repair is easy - getting the panel(s) off and back on in one piece to get to the backlights however is something else entirely. Need glazing grips and a lot of space!

It's rare that anything in MyConcern/Cpoms should ever find its way into the scope of an SAR, that record isn't far off the confidentiality levels of criminal records, social care etc. You could argue easily for a blanket "nope" but it's a grey fence that the ICO will sit on forever.

Ah indeed - looking further at it, onedrive works in the context of 365 apps or anything else with save to onedrive shortcuts, but it won't show in file explorer

As long as those data points in MyConcern are clearly stated as "opinion" or observations during interview etc, then they should absolutely remain in place and GDPR has no say in the matter. Just because they don't like what they've seen, doesn't mean it should be struck from record. They might not agree that "pupil X called pupil Y an absolute Z" and want it struck, but if pupil Y said that's what happened, it needs to stay on record.

You can hide those known folders using Intune or by invoking the WMI gods; unfortunately not via plain registry or GPO. Doing so removes all local storage, and you can do it quite easily in that manner whilst still allowing Onedrive to work. I did previously have it working with known folder move prior to becoming a Google school I was trying to achieve the same with Google Drive FS, but alas it stopped that working as well Trying to avoid folder redirection as we don't want to have anything reliant on a server, so having to just make do with funky logon permissions and hoping they're consistent enough to be feasible.

This wasn't anything to do with that, I was just wondering if you would commit to an answer to @David44's question publicly?
