  1. From the view menu - check "show policies only" is NOT ticked - that may sort it Andy
  2. There are, IIRC, two types of policies (or more accurately: policies and something else) and you have to tell AD to show you both - I can't for the life of me remember where you select it - I had to do it myself when I started making ADMs. I will investigate further and report back (if noone says first!) Andy.
  3. How bizarre that I've never had that in the three years or so I've been here - until... yesterday Andy
  4. Stop that giggling at the back!
  5. I'm quite sure I've used PC Inspector File Recovery free before to some success Andy.
  6. We have just (well, just as in last year, just before the upgrade ) paid 1700 quid for Macromedia Studio - so of course we are using Word for websites Oh, and Corel 9 for graphics. In fairness, the head of ICT is trying to teach himself Dreamweaver, so maybe this year... Andy
  7. All I meant was I am closer - I am not "in the know" Andy
  8. EduGeek I'm sure there will be another soon Andy
  9. I bet I'll get there first!!
  10. A quick SIMS (and PARS) one for anyone who may be able to help... What permissions are required to allow a teacher to upgrade SIMS and/or PARS on their workstation? Its been running on the admin network for years, supported by an org the Lancs folk all know and love the users there are all local admins on their machines. I don't want to do that on my network. Any help appreciated as always. Andy
  11. Here it is That was quick - lets have a sweep - when will we hit 1000 by? Andy
  12. Black pens are like gold dust here too! When I first spoke to IDN they were able to offer me a choice of three colours: Grey/Orange, I presume Blue/yellow (the pens from the primary board), and I can only presume black? Regards the click, the first Grey/Orange ones 'clicked' just like the black ones. The new ones seem to have developed a 'none click' technique. Which is a shame because feeling the 'click' was part of my training spiel to staff! At first I thought we had bought cheap imitations from IDN, but the next boards we bought from Promethean did the same. Oh well, something else to get used to! Andy.
  13. john: don't mind you playing, would just rather you let us win
  14. It certainly is, but £28 is also cheaper than £100 and will get me more than what I actually need. Especially as, just before Christmas (and just before the price drop) we bought a shed load of pens for various departments! And we are all, I'll bet, currently in the same boat of barely having 2 ha'pennies to rub together (nevermind two quid!). Roll on April Andy
  15. The only slight niggle I have - and it's nothing to do with them: whenever they ring up for me - the office tell me it's IBM! Andy.
  16. Isn't it always the case that everything is always repeated umpteen times on all the 'extra' channels. Until there is something you actually want to see!
  17. Would you mind waiting till next week - we've (our temporary work's syndicate) been waiting for 2 weeks now to win! Are only playing while it keeps rolling over, so it's all yours after that I won the National once (well the horse I picked did!) Haven't played since so I think that means I'm still in profit. Andy.
  18. We've been buying Promethean pens from there - no problems. Haven't had any big installs or anything tho. Promethean are doing the pens at 2 for £30 now, or 5 for 60 10 for 100. I rang my usual contact at IDN and he quoted me £14 each for 2 Andy.
  19. The last day of term, just before Christmas, we "upgraded" one teacher to dry wipe whiteboard! He was not impressed (needless to say, he is not near the top end of the list for an IWB) Andy.
  20. Congratulations! Hope you get, at least, a bit of sleep! Andy.
  21. And if you live in Lancashire, don't sit underneath Andy.
  22. First episode now available at Channel 4.com Lets see if I can manage alunch break without being interrupted! Andy
  23. Authenticating against AD sounds very sensible to me. Presumably this would be "Pro" point for hosting Moodle locally rather than using a County hosted one - am I correct? (Or could you still get a county one to look at your AD setup?) Andy.
  24. Thanks for that Tony. I didn't think that we would be out of a job so to speak - as you say - in our environment people have come to depend on there being a real person there to sort out issues etc.. I just worry that our role will be diminished somewhat. Time will tell... Andy.
  25. Yup - we get both! Our librarian can change passwords - it's quite nice to palm people off on her from time to time Andy.
