Becta Publications will no longer be available from October 22nd
Becta, the govt organisation that has previously held responsbility for the promotion of technology thoughout UK schools until the announcement of it's closure in May by teh new UK colalition govt has posted on it's site that anyone wishing to order any publications previously available through them should do so by October 22nd 2010. FaceBook Updates Privacy Settings - Again
FaceBook has updated their privacy settings again, adding in a groups feature to improve a user's ability to limit what others can see. The new functionality allows a user to list friends in a group and decide what updates they can and cannot see. The site has also added the ability to download all content a user has posted on FaceBook to their computer. The city of South Bend in America has hit the media spotlight for an advertising campaign that went, well, south. As part of a campaign to promote public schools in the area, a large billboard went up promoting the "15 best things about our public schools." Adobe Reader Fake Update Warning
Adobe are warning customers about a series of scam E-Mails claiming to offer a bogus update to it's Adobe Reader software. The senders claim to be genuine Adobe Reader Support representatives in the E-Mail but the supposed "patch" contains a malicious payload of malware. Adobe have stated in their news bulletin that updates are only available via the official Adobe Reader download page and not from any other source. Time to get warning your users then. Google Waves Goodbye
