jonnykewell1 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Hi Guys, how do you all manage computer room bookings? we have 10 rooms around the school that when empty can be booked out to any department. At the minute we have a simple spreadsheet with the days and rooms available and we have two separate weeks of timetables week a and week b. We would like to introduce some sort of online system that can be viewed as read only and then a request can be sent to us via email. We do have home access but the initial login for it seems pretty slow, probably as it is authenticating with AD on another server. Cheers, Jonny
HMCTech Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Room Booking System - Online Room Booking Software is awesome for us and their support is amazing. 1
jonnykewell1 Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 jeeze the pricing is abit steap for a room booking system. I'll stick to my spreadsheet lol.
laserblazer Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Take a look at this FREE 28 day trial - Online Room booking, equipment booking, online marking, exam information, parent evening bookings & student lists It costs us £60 a year and does everything we need it to do. There is a wishlist option and they are very responsive. I've had a couple of requests that were implemented.
TomCollins Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 http://freeperiod.co.uk/ does maximum of 25 bookings a week, which if you have a 5 period day should be good enough. Otherwise, HAP is another option.
tmcd35 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 classroombookings - Web-based room booking system for schools - Google Project Hosting We use this. Developed by someone on these forums. Search the forum for CRBS for the relevant threads. 1

mrbios Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Another one using Home access plus, huge benefits in many ways beyond a simple booking sheet too. Highly recommend it hap.codeplex.com
GilRil Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 yes we have set up HAP and testing it out, during the summer we are going to upgrade all our XP with Win 7, so we are going to be busy and let users use HAP
bossman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 We use this. Developed by someone on these forums. Search the forum for CRBS for the relevant threads. @webman developed it for our school and has served us well for a number of years. Easy to setup and use....................enjoy! 1
cogrady84 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 I've been using MRBS for about 5 years now, very easy to setup and very easy to modify to your needs, lots of configuration options, runs on IIS, PHP, MySQL, highly recommended!
Kyle Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 We just create calendars on our sharepoint server for each room and handle the room bookings that way.
Grey-gear Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 We use Venue booker for room booking and laptop bookings.
imunro01 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 We use the devizes booking system:- Booking System Web Site.
Ben_Stanton Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Sorry to resurrect an old thread. Would any of the above programs be particularly good at Boarding House Room bookings? As in, being able to see what flexi boarding rooms are available etc.? Thanks in advance, Ben
mrforgetful Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 We use BookIt which is free and was hosted at steelers-fc.co.uk/slimjims but seems to be down. AD integration, Periods not times, editable, modifiable.
