Service Outage Warning the day after

Came in this morning and got the following email, which i found amusing and explains a few things last night.

FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE NETWORK MANAGER

 

 

Please note that Service Pack updates will be applied to BGfL Plus, leading to a service outage from 10.00 p.m. on Wednesday, 11th July 2007. It is estimated that BGfL Plus will be available by 7.00 a.m. on Thursday, 12th July 2007.

 

This update includes the re-introduction of the MyMail Property which can be added to the desktop. This property lists the most recent emails received.

 

Please contact the Service Desk if you have any questions or queries.

Yes i knew you were going to say its on the website... i was just pointing out that the email came the day later.

 

EDIT: Dont Get me wrong, its good the we get email update and we didnt get this problem in the past but this one was rather funny. On a side note who out there hates the morning rutual of checking sites (such as provider) for updates just incase there something there or interest/problem.

Lol, I had someone on today to fix my connection. It kept dropping. Couldnt log in to certain sites, kept getting session expired messages. Those darn i-mimic servers are causing more trouble that the volera ones. And i hated the Volera ones.

One of the joys of being connected to Janet is that you get loads of info about planned outages and about unplanned outages and what's going on (lots of detail about a broken fibre under the sea to Belfast recently, for example)

 

There's also http://london.netsight.ja.net/ which lets you see the status of the entire Janet system down to individual college/uni connections.
