Link: Kern Type, the kerning game

Your mission is simple: achieve pleasant and readable text by distributing the space between letters. Typographers call this activity kerning. Your solution will be compared to a typographer's solution, and you will be given a score depending on how close you nailed it.

First of 10 kerning problems:

Thats great :) I'm quite good at Kerning as I have worked with a Sign Writer so get used to tweaking to make it visually right, its not offering me a tweet option but I've just done all 10 and getting around 90/100 as an average got 100/100 on a couple of them :)

There were a couple where I didn't tuck the second letter underneath the capital T anywhere near enough :( but having never been taught anything about this and just having learnt it by doing in Photoshop, I'm quite chuffed tbh

94/100

Although it seems to me that if I arrange the letters so that they are visually appealing to me then that is the best arrangement for me...whether that is "correct" is surely a bit subjective?

Rather like colour balancing a photograph...we all see colours differently so would often disagree on what is "right", look at someone else's TV and their colour settings will often look wrong to you.

Or am I taking this all too seriously ;)

If your red green colourblind like moi then who knows what your red and green are :p

I believe I am also colourblind [Red/Green] I have not been tested for it but I do seem to have mild colourblindness [if that is possible] I often cannot agree with my friends/colleagues what certain colours/shades should be called.

Ishihara Test for Color Blindness :)

What do you see then :) I can see 1 of them clearly and one other sort of the rest all just spots to me which confirms my weakness

Oh and for those who will want to ask but dare not, I am fine with Traffic Lights I will not run you over as I can tell if its red or green or even amber :p (Yes I am regularly asked if I should be allowed to drive as they assume that Red / Green colour blindness = red and green are just grey or not visible at all!)

That seems like a dumb question to ask because we know that the top light is 'red' therefore if the top light is on then the lights are red, and so on. I don't get why people don't logically understand this. It wouldn't matter if you were totally colour blind and saw only in greyscale, a light that is on is still on so as long as you know the sequence of lights you're fine.

Top left I can see a roughly formed 25. As for the rest: Just a collection of dots arranged into a circle [Middle right I can see that there is supposed to be something there but I can't make it out]

My youngest brother is red/green colour blind...so what did he do for his first proper job...tomato cultivation!*

*he can still tell how ripe a tomato is just by touch!
