SteveB_NI Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I was wondering if anyone can let me know if this idea will work ok, or even has any suggestions on brands / projectors to use... I would like to order a portable projector which can be used for presentations / events around the school in various locations... occasionally even having to project onto painted white brick wall. Now here's where I have no experience... I would ideally like it to be a short throw projector which can be pretty much situated at the base of the screen / wall & reduce the need for trailing cables or indeed for the projector to be put into the "middle" of the front row audience! Not only that but I would prefer it to be wireless to allow for iPad / android tablet projection.... although we do have an AppleTV so that's not really a big issue at present. Any ideas if this is even possible? A lot of short throw projectors seem to require mounting on a wall or overhead... they don't seem to be that portable!
Oaktech Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 almost any ultra short throw projector - like the Hitachi CP-A221nm is capable of being placed about 1m from the wall on the floor and creating an image of a decent size.
3s-gtech Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Yeah, if you want it at the base of the image, you're looking at ultra short throw, short throw may not cut it so check the projector specs.

Oaktech Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 i've got one in front of me... it has adjustable rubber feet! So, yes, portable. Make sure you ask for it to not have the bracket, otherwise you will be paying for 3kg of metal you won't use! Also, consider getting a bag for it once you have it in front of you and know what size it is as it doesn't come with one. 1
