t'was between +1 and -3.5 on the drive in for me this morning, and it's showing -1.0 in my Astra on the carpark now.

I thought I'd freeze to the wheel. Forgotten where my studded driving gloves are!

Pretty though. Swine to breathe in if you're asthmatic!

Ah, don't be so soft. It's not that cold.

Remember, you can always wrap up more to get warmer, but when you are boiling hot and butt naked there isn't much you can do to get cooler.

It was really iced up and frosty this morning, I wonder if we'll see some snow soon?

Yeah i nearly fell on my ass getting off the bus today cus the frost on the floor was so thick

Hay thats the same reason I took the wifes MX-5 to work instead this morning.

Kinky, shouldn't you be concentrating on driving though? ;)

It was snowing in Middlesbrough yesterday morning at about 5:30 and my car was iced up this morning. Loving the Mondeo's Quick Clear button, de-iced everything in under a minute :D

Last year in Oldham we had one day of real heavy snow, pupils and staff made their way in and life went on.

The LEA in their wisdom decided that all schools were to be closed the next day for pupils.

When i got up in the moring all the snow had melted, plus side, no kids

...but then a penguin would say that wouldn't they?!

You want to try living down here - slightest hint of white and everything grinds to a standstill...

Hmm this time of year, getting dragged halfway across the school to show people how to plug in their printers does have slightly less comedy value. I can fell tasks which can't be done via VNC being 'reprioritised'.

I like the cold. Big heavy coats, hot cocoa, blazing log fires, snowball fights, ruddy cheeked children, football in the park, jumpers for goalposts...oops dropped into the Fast Show there...

Cold? THis isn't cold ... cold is being stood in a 4' hole in the ground at 3.30 in the morning on Salisbury Plain in February on the last "cold" spell of the year when you know that there is only you and 3 others awake and the other 51 b*st*rds are fast asleep in their bags.

And then your replacement not coming, and you are not relieved until 5am.

I don't care how good the kit the army issues you with, when you are in the UK on exercise they never give you the good stuff, they save that for Norway or Canada because it never really gets below freezing (it was minus bloody 15!)

Still ... if I need to warm up now I can just go and stand in the staff room and tell everyone that the network is down for maintenance and the waves of anger could heat the school for the rest of the day
