kharbour Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Hi, My name's Karl, I'm a systems architect at Pearson Education. I've joined EduGeek to aid me in decision-making about various technical issues that we face in developing software applications for the UK schools market.
elsiegee40 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 kharbour I think it's good to have some of the developers on here to listen to what we edugeeks need to run software at our schools succesfully. And to help us out when we get stuck with their products.

danieldainty Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Hello! I've been lurking 'round these parts for some time but thought it'd be polite to finally say hello. I've been following/stalking some of the regulars on twitter already and want to see what else is going on in the education & ICT scene. I also robbed an edugeek lanyard from the stand at BETT and wear my corp ID card on it. You all knew about becta-x before I did, so I'm hoping to find out about exhibitions and stuff like that before the actual day next time! Disclosure: I work for a company who provides consultancy to schools. Not here to sell, don't worry. Just here to lurk and learn. Right, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to fix typos on the pedants' board...

Welcome to edugeek and the pedantic geeks danieldainty You probably noticed that I decided to avoid apostrophe arguments in the name of the group! (I read Private Eye too often and they had endless arguments over the apostrophe in Pedants'/Pendant's/Pedants Corner )
bobk Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hi from Brazil. I'm Bob Walker, and my current interest in ICT4E is due to 1. my education background (Ed.D. from the University of Massachusetts), 2. my current university teaching position at the Universidade de Brasilia, where I'm using Moodle to manage the three courses I'm teaching, 3. my current consultancy, an evaluability assessment on ICT4E in Brazil (i.e., trying to discover whether it will be feasible and worthwhile to do a major evaluation for the ministry). Have a nice holiday weekend - and take a bit of time for contemplation, if you can! Bob

Sarconia Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hi All, I've been reading this forum for a good year or so now... and finally decided to sign up the other week. I mostly deal with MIS systems, however I do a lot of fiddling round with PC's for various people at home. I look forward to conversing with you all
