reggiep Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Hi, Our head deosn't like our current helpdesk solution as the user has to log in before submitting a ticket. Can anyone suggest a paid for solution that has AD integration? Thanks Reg
localzuk Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 You could do it with RT - RT: Request Tracker - Best Practical But this would require you to set it up to use NTLM and then set up Apache to deal with it. Also bear in mind that RT is relatively time consuming to set up, but massively flexible. 1
detjo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 ServiceDesk Plus. It can be a bit daunting coz there's a lot in it, but it is very good .. and not too cheap! Help Desk Software, IT Helpdesk Tool - ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus 1
Rozzer Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I have been using service desk plus for 7 years and got to agree it does have a lot of features and I am only probabily using 40% of features but its been great here! Ross 1
LiamH Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) Spiceworks syncs up with AD, but i'm not sure it supports single sign on. At least its harder for them to forget their domain credentials (although they somehow still manage it) and we set up a mail box for faults that imports it automatically into the help desk. Edit : should really link it http://www.spiceworks.com/ its free and has other features but we just use it for the helpdesk Edited October 12, 2012 by LiamH
mossj88 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Spiceworks supports AD accounts, but you may be better off using the email logging feature no random helpdesk for the user just drop an email to it and it will all be done for you.
localzuk Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Spiceworks doesn't have built in SSO support.
HMCTech Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I have Kayako 4.1 working with AD SSO. It doesn't support this out of the box but the community has a hack for it. I would suggest downloading the trial and hacking it as I have to get this working. Our users just click on the link and they are signed in so seems to work well. Help Desk Software, Live Chat Software and Customer Service Software
LiamH Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Spiceworks doesn't have built in SSO support. You can get it working but its a pita Active Directory Portal SSO - Spiceworks Most of our users prefer the emailing option
mthomas08 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 We use sharepoint here currently, SSO and fully customizable. We even have daily totals for each person appear on the right side (IT Support Staff).
mattianuk Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Webhelpdesk here, supports login by AD account credentials, but not auto signing AFAIK - however as others have said, you can set it to accept tickets via email, which means they dont need to log into anything....
glennda Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Personally I would go with Request Tracker and then setup users to email a mailbox which request tracker pulls from.
ICTNUT Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 OP SmartDesk supports AD Authentication with Single Sign-On (SSO) coming in Jan 2013 1
DaveMurphy Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Been using ManageEngine Service Desk + for a year or so now, reasonably priced, does everything you need it to do and users are able to use it without problems.
