Does anyone own a Nespresso EN520.R Lattissima machine? Sawit on a few sites and watched a few vids on YouTube and looks very nice. I like the way it can take small or large mugs, froths your milk for you and the detachable milk holder you can store in the fridge. The cons appear to be that it's rather noisy, and the wife, who did a stint on a Starbucks coffe bar on a holiday park over summer, cant see how the milk can be heated and foamed so quickly.

Bloody pods. Hate them. I understand the reasoning that it keeps it fresher and sealed, but I dunno, I just like doing it manually. Plus I can buy annnnnnny coffee I want, not just what Nescafe or whoever provide. It's just another proprietary system to get locked into

 

Personally I just use a french press, although I would like a (small) coffee machine I guess.

 

What I will be buying soon is a Vietnamese drip filter and some Vietnamese coffee. That, iced with condensed milk, is heaven

 

 

I also have a vietnamese phin coffee filter actually so should @ZeroHour as I sent him one with a coffee donation

I have a Tassimo machine and its great. Easy to manage and fill up. The pods are available from all good supermarkets.

I'm another Aeropress convert. I have to admit to using it with preground coffee... usually decaf. After serious problems with an over-active thyroid, I can't tolerate much caffeine these days.

Hubby has a tassimo coffee machine as he like frothy coffee. I only drink black coffee and much prefer my hob perculator. Takes longer but the flavour is so much better.

Cafetiere in work. 'Mrs' has a Tassimo. I have a domestic espresso machine. But the Mrs has a 2 station commercial espresso machine in the kitchen, it's not plumbed in.... yet.

I buy my coffee beans (Italian/Mocha blend) from Roberts Coffee - either online or preferably in person. Bought an aeropress after my stove-top mocha pot had been used to death and fell apart.

+1 for Tassimo. They're quick and easy (and only heat the water they need for 1 cup so eco friendly too - although all that plastic wasted in pods is another issue...)

They're always doing some kind of offer on the machines, and the supermarkets are always doing offers on the pods. Tesco are doing 2 boxes for £6 ATM which works out at 19p per pod for Costa Americano which is the only one you'll ever need!

Also does decent Cadbury or Milka hot chocolate (the Suchards ones are OK, but not frothy like the others).

Here's one to throw at you guy. What about a bean to cup machine? This is my current unit I use but have used others in the past. Buy Saeco HD8750/18 Intuita Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine, Black online at John Lewis I have used others in the past a found them to be very good at making good strong coffee. RB

I got a cheapo espresso machine from lidl a few years ago which is still going strong. Got a couple of £1 packs from pactcoffee that i'm currently working my way through.

I've got one of these. Buy fresh beans from the local roaster and it's superb.

 

When it does eventually go bang I'll be investing in separates though. Coffee can get very expensive very quickly!

My wife has recently gone in for one of these things and is trying to convert me. As far as pods god, it's ok, but I am very much a DIY man when it comes to coffee. Going to take more convincing to get me on to pods. Then again, I always loved the looks lof those old school machines you get in cafes and restaurants - diners from the 50s etc.
