Recommend me a....A4 colour printer

we need a new A4 colour printer for our DT Dept.

 

So far I have my eye on

 

Brother HL-4150cdn-£350 \ £48 a toner-2.5k \ 3yr warranty-if bought before 30th june - http://uk.insight.com/en-gb/productinfo/laser-printers/BROHL4150

 

Samsung CLP-775nd-£534 \ £80 a toner-7k \ 5yr onsite warranty-if bought before 30th june - http://www.misco.co.uk/product/187612/Samsung-CLP-775ND-Colour-Laser-Printer

 

It needs to be robust, reliable, cheap to run, works well on svr2008 and win7 clients.

Printing around 200pages a month for DT coursework,cad designs etc... No wax printers as some things need to be laminated.

 

 

any ideas?

we are running the CLP-620 from samsung and have no real problems with them, the quality is not up to that of the HP 2025s we are also running but the TCO on the samsung is much lower.

Avoid the Brothers, I do not find them brilliant. I have some Samsungs from Danwood here and they are not bad bits of kit.

What you say is wrong with them?

 

We have a few of the HL-4140CN, HL-4040, HL5350,HL5250 And so on. Not had any problems (yet)

Our DT department here uses a Kyocera 5350DN.

 

We also have many of these around the rest of the school.

 

We have had them in for 1-2 years and they seem very reliable and are supposed to be very economical tonerwise.

I'm pretty swayed by the samsungs 5yr onsite warranty and the 7k toners seem good value compared to others I 've for a similar price for 2.5k-5k

we have the b&w printers here and they are fine (if a little elderely now) but my experience previously with the colour ones is that generally they have been fragile; paper trays break when loading paper gearing has sheared off in the most mild looking paper jams and transfer/pickup rollers have worn smooth very quickly.

we are running the CLP-620 from samsung and have no real problems with them, the quality is not up to that of the HP 2025s we are also running but the TCO on the samsung is much lower.

 

We use the Samsing CLP-620ND printers also. They seem pretty reliable and economical. So far I think we might have only had 1 jam?!

200 pages a month is not a great deal of printing; you may find that although the Samsung is more economical for the toner, it'll take you >5 years to pay off the premium over the Brother.

 

We've had a number of colour Brothers here for a long while and (4040/4050s chiefly) and they're sturdy bits of kit; don't think we've ever had a problem with them that couldn't be sorted by us onsite.

We also have some of the Samsung CLP-620's solid machines.

 

Reference Brother machines I just find they are not up to scratch in a office environment, we have a number of HL-5240's & HL-5350's and don't like them in the office. We have them in our GP surgeries and find they are good for things like prescriptions and other specialist forms but on a whole office environment a no no. Maybe its just me but they don't cut it for me.

I have to say. The colour printers arnt brillent. I find the Mono ones are good value.

We're rocking HP CP3525 for colour printing. My experience with Samsung hasnt been the best, the Brothers ive used have been okay but HP seem to be the best from my experience.
