Internet Speed in Lincoln Schools

are any other Lincoln schools having Internet Speed issues. We have noticed over the last few weeks how at times it girnds to a halt. We are aware of major changes coming soon. Not in Lincoln, but just outside and on LSN without any issues. We do use our own proxy setup though.

What size school are you @mgothorp and what speeds did you used to get?

 

I'm guessing you're a secondary school and have a 40Mbit Fibre connection?

We have really slow internet intermittent on the LSN network

We had slow issues as well with the school proxy. I used to have contact with a chap at county and did a lot of testing for him for netsweeper - unfortunately he left and only since then the internet performance has degraded! The real reason is probably due to schools streaming if they can dedicate their time for a whole week and then say the issue appears to have improved. They never like to give a reason why!!
