Hi all,

Anyone know a way to silently install Quicktime please?

I'd love to just use something else but some %$^$% dev has set the app to check for quicktime specifically before running.

Usual options of /s or -silent etc. are a no go, and Google is confusing me even more

Thanks!

Matt

it will msi out ok (last version i tried i only upate it when people complain something wont work with version x) but iirc you also need apple application support (its in the same download just extract all the files from the exe using 7zip or similar or just run till you get the install screens and instead of installing rummage round the temp files). The msi needs editing to language 1033 only as otherwise it thinks its in taiwaneese and wont install

The other option is to use ProcMon and figure out which reg keys the bit of filth is looking at then add them. I have done this on Windows 7 before as it includes a QT codec and by throwing the correct refuse in the right places the idiot program just decided to give it a go and it worked fine with the built in codecs without having to sully the machine with any more apple filth than nessisary.
