contink Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Not wishing to be an old boring fart or ought but there's starting to be a number of animated signatures appearing that are constantly dragging my attention away from the posts I'm trying to read. Is there a ruling on this, ask people to change them nicely, or find some way to block it out of our conscious?
Guest kerrymoralee9280 Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Not wishing to be an old boring fart...... Really?! Your sure about that haha.
localzuk Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I will agree on that, they just plain irritate me...
webman Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 If you're using Firefox just use the Adblock extension and block them... or just right-click and 'Block all images from hostname.website...'
contink Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 If you're using Firefox just use the Adblock extension and block them... or just right-click and 'Block all images from hostname.website...' Just discovered that and popped it into action so I guess that's one way to solve the problem.
Oops_my_bad Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 I also find some of the posts on this forum most annoying.. can we block those too? I'm not sensible enough to selectively ignore stuff, you see...
Heebeejeebee Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Can't say I've ever been bothered by them. HBJB (Avec animated avatar)
Joedetic Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Live and let die....this is the interwebs after all!
mrbios Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 i dont mind animated avatars but i think animated signitures are a bit much at times
steve Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I think these sigs are the internet equivalent of the rear end of a car: Internet - car rear No sig - de-badged Basic sig - standard model info Humorous sig - comedy bumper sticker Quirky quote - custom number plate Flashy graphics - boy racer big exhaust and spoiler And tbh I view them with the same attitude - must be compensating for something!
Ric_ Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Large sigs are what I detest! If people are not sensible about what goes into their sigs, they will be removed by a site admin. If people continue to complain about sigs, we may have to review the policy allowing graphical sigs. EduGeek does not want to do this but we will be holding discussions about this.
webman Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I have a phobia of avatars with big yellow scowling faces :?
Ric_ Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I have a phobia of avatars with big yellow scowling faces :? At least it's static
Oops_my_bad Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 At least it's static It is a bit on the large size.. surely there are rules for having such a large avatar.
Ric_ Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 At least it's static It is a bit on the large size.. surely there are rules for having such a large avatar. There are rules... the site enforces these itself by scaling the image down!
Geoff Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I have a phobia of avatars with big yellow scowling faces :? It winked at me!
