Hi all,

I don't suppose anyone is able to email me the Windows 7 32-bit driver for the Laser Cam A2 by any chance please? If there is one...Techsoft suggested there was only an XP one. We've installed it, but we can't seem to get it to work fully. The Laser Cam works, but we can't change any of the Laser Settings in the printer, such as increasing the power or decreasing the cutting speed. (Well, it let's us change these settings, but as soon as we click OK it reverts to the Defaults. For some materials the Default settings are not enough.)

Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

Tim.

Have you tried this with an admin account or a standard account? we had problems be with a restrict/standard account

We have had trouble changing any of the Laser options as well. We have enabled full control access to the files in the spool folder but no-one can change the settings or load the laser configuration files.

Any help to solve is appreciated.

***SOLVED***

If the configuration files are not loading, the header probably needs changing within the .lcf file. We changed the first line of the file to

Does anyone know if there is a Win Se7en driver for the techsoft TS-400? it is based it seems off of a roland GX-400 which does have Win 7 drivers, but I can't find anything for the TS-400 - I am attempting to try to force the GX-400 driver but the machine doesn't respond at all

Does anyone still have drivers available for an old Lascam A2 cutter? I have been in contact with Techsoft but am still waiting for them to get back to me. If anyone has a copy they could send me I would be very grateful.

Check your PMs.

They got back to me eventually, but it took them a few days.

Hi

I've recently acquired an old Lasercam A2 along with an old XP machine. I'd really like to update the PC to something a bit more modern.

Does anybody know the latest OS that this will run on, and possibly have the drivers please?

Also am I stuck with the Techsoft 2d Designv2, or is any other software compatible with the Lasercam A2?

Thanks in advance!

The A2 seems to only have a 32 bit driver available - that still means you can give 10, 8.1 and 7 a pop. I suspect you will have luck with 7 but not the others. Try Techsoft support, they're usually good.

Thanks for the super quick response! I've had issues with Techsoft, in my experience they have been very slow.

I'm bit of a beginner with all of this so you'll have to forgive my basic questions.

(1) Will the same drivers work on any 32 bit OS?;

(2) can I copy the drivers off of my hard drive (and if so how?);

(3) if I can't copy the drivers from XP does anybody have them please?

(4) Apart from Techsoft 2d designv2, does any other CAD software work with the Lasercam A2?

Thanks for your patience!

The XP drivers may work on 7 (and above perhaps). No guarantees, but it depends how late the driver you have is. You may be able to get the drivers back out from the XP install. Have a look at the list of files used by the device in Device Manager, and the corresponding .inf file. You may be able to use something like CorelDraw with it - apparently the Techsoft branded lasers are pretty cross-compatible.

We have an A2 running on windows 7 x64 was a pain to get the right driver. If anyone else is using any other software I would love to know as I'm not keen on 2D design. I've tried other things but they didn't seem to work.

Just a quick update. I've not had chance to experiment with other OS yet. However, the open source QCAD software runs fine with the Lasercam and also Windows XP and Windows 10. This means that in the short term I can build my designs on the laptop and transfer them to the old XP desktop that's connected to the Lasercam.

My next step is to see what OS the current drivers will work on and see if I can do away with the old XP PC altogether.
