Do you schools alow purchases from overseas (ie America) only ask cos of the strong £:$ at the mo?

Yes the only issue is how you pay.

 

If your school has a CC then it's easy otherwise you're looking at paypal or international money order is $'s or a bank transfer.

The other issue is the possibility of customs duty on what you import - I have been stung with this in the past.

yea good point.... i will contact them to see how import duty & VAT are paid, and by who

Import duty, vat, shipping. Warranty? How do you send it back if it breaks? I can see auditors being unimpressed already

I bought some software from the states - it was half the price than buying it from a UK reseller

 

I got it on my CC and just give the bursar my statement and get it back in expenses :twisted:
