Online DVD Rentals

What would people recommend for renting DVDs off the internet. I dont want to stream due to a slow connection. I have been looking at Lovefilm what do you all say about it, is there a better one that i should be going for.

It would be great if you could cast your opinions and experiences of any of these services.

Lovefilm is the best for physical rentals, very easy, reasonable price, plus go through quidco etc you'll get a fair chunk of cashback too. The choice is very good and up to date.

I've used LoveFilm before, they're most certainly not bad. +1 for them.

I admit I use Netflix more now, but if you want the physical disk, LoveFilm is the way to go.

I used to be subscribed to love film a number of years back before the amazon take over and they were really good then but now that amazon have taken over you have to pay extra for the box office ( online rentals for newer movies ) am not sure in regards to the box office physical media ie dvd / blu ray etc ?

 

Obviously the price depends on which package you choose but the one I was looking at I think was either £15 or £17 a month which includes movies / games and unlimited online streaming minus the box office stuff online. If I remember correctly they didn't do the box office stuff before so probably not a fair comment but they never used to charge extra for anything else it was purely just your monthly subscription and that was it.

We recently switched away from LoveFilm to Blockbuster, due to the long-running dispute between LoveFilm and Universal Pictures, which means LoveFilm do not carry most Universal Pictures films or NBC TV shows after 2009. We also started to find other annoying gaps in their catalogue, such as not having any of How I Met Your Mother on DVD after season 2 (Blockbuster have all the currently released seasons). We watch a lot of US TV shows on DVD due to not having Sky or Virgin, so this eventually became a deal-breaker for us.

 

I think Blockbuster is slightly more expensive, but we haven't noticed any difference in service between the two, other than Blockbuster having a superior selection.

Just about to cancel Lovefilm and move to Blockbuster, fed up not being able to rent any Universal releases.

Lovefilm, been very good Choice of Packages from LOVEFiLM (Save up to 80%)

 

Buy the groupon codes when they do them and stack them, currently have 6 months 2 disk rental for £8 and you can use the signup £20 amazon voucher too!
