Michael Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Is there any reason you're limiting yourself to two brands? I can recommend Ricoh and Brother. If I had to choose between Kyocera and OKI, that really is a toughie as I wouldn't use either (personally).
Liam Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 There is good reason for this. I am considering a managed print solution and the two in question have approached me recently. By no means is this set stone, i feel I have a reasonsibility to justify my decisions so I am gathering as much info as I can. At this point I am only interested in kyo and oki. We use Ricoh presently for our colour lasers. Can't fault them. For mono we do already use kyo, so from experience we have fully road tested them. They have proved to be cheap enough, reasonable running costs and reliability has been good too. Thanks

I am a reference site for them (reference needs updating). We replaced all our printers around 2 years ago. If you would like a chat PM me.

Pyroman Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 We have a pair of Kyocera FS-C5350DN and they're awesome, print quality is superb, i can force the kids to print duplex to save paper and the fixing them side of things isn't a hassle when it's managed as they'll come and do the repairs (as it happens we've had them 2 years and never had a problem *touch wood*)

As others have said I wouldn't limit yourself to just 2 brands, personaly I have found Ricoh to be best with a very small driver and a very intuative UI.
andyturpie Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 We have a managed Kyocera fleet of 38 printers and MFPs and had no issues. 3920DN Monos 5200DN Colour 1128mfp Mono all in one 1022mfp colour all in one Running for over two years, no major issues and only around 3 call outs for paper jams.

Best of both This .. we have a number (14 or so) Olivetti Printers across our site, including a couple of Multi Function Devices, and I can't fault them. I also can't fault the company that has supplied them to us - Total Digital Solutions - Digital Office Solutions and Document Management - as a supplier .. on the odd occasion we've had the need to call them out (more for regular servicing on our Ricoh Copier) they've been out within 4 hours and pretty much had it sorted there and then (there was one time when they needed to special order a part that we just got unlucky on linked to our sorted, but they disabled the sorter and we could still use the machine as a bog standard - so very helpful indeed).
