netflix isnt over here yet is it?

I downloaded it on my Xbox last night.

I probably still have some two month free Lovefilm vouchers somewhere if you are interested.

Neither at the moment, when I used Lovefilm a while ago the selection available for streaming was diabolical and it looks like Netflix's is no better at the moment.

Netflix does have the advantage of having the AppleTV client though, once that's enabled here it may make it a little more interesting for me.

ok cool, one question then is it a scam like love film? were you pay for unlimited streaming then have to pay for each film? or is it 5.99 a month and free pickings?

From the admittedly limited amount of playing I've done so far, it does look to be truly unlimited, dependant on your broadband caps of course!

Love film isn't a scam, its quite clear, if your package has streaming there are some films that are free and some that are paid for.

However the selection of free films isn't great, neither is the quality of the streaming service which, for us, was constantly buffering and making the films unwatchable, that's if we weren't gettting the "Streaming service is currently unavailable" message. Oh and of course they switched from Flash to Silverlight which caused issues for us we use linux at home.

Lovefilm have just partnerd with bbc and itv so you will be able to stream their programs soon, i cant fault lovefilm at all and theyve really improved their service of late, inculding upping your package (2 discs to three discs etc) for free. their streaming is free with a package but they do have some premium films you have to pay for seperatley, their catalogue is constantly growing and the xbox app works fantastically well, been using them for about 4 years and have no reason to change to netflix.

I'd prefer megashares, or some of the usernet sites. The prices are much more reasonable than lovefilm etc and you can buy a one-off subscription if you want and download an unlimited amount of movies. The quality is good for most, but for others the quality can be poor. Another advantage is they sometimes manage to pre-cinema releases !?!

But those sites are in breach of copyright, Netflix & Lovefilm are legitimate sites.

Have Lovefilm, pretty happy with it. With Netflix it seems to insist that you sign up with your Facebook account, anyway of not doing this?

Really? That means they are supporting terrorism and I gave my money to the taliban. I'm shocked. If only lovefilm/netflix could lower there prices so that they could compete with these taliban scum.

their prices are reasonable for what they offer...£20 a month for 9 film downloads/6 dvd rentals and 4 game rentals...blockbuster would be pretty hard pressed to do that pricing, infact blockbuster are closing stores because of love films pricing. Love film also have pricing as low as £4.99 a month, so hardly unreasonable.

Netflix and Lovefilm are both £5.99 a month for online streaming, I would say that's pretty cheap! Also, this is a professional site, not a good place to start recommending people do things that are illegal, if you don't want to pay and go through legitimate channels, then don't watch the stuff, simples.

Agree with the Lovefilm selection being very poor. I was a member years ago and it was great for DVDs but stopped for various reasons. Now with the streaming on PS3 I signed up for another trial expecting the vast majority of films to be available (maybe not brand new ones but at least a decent old selection) but it was appalling. There is no way on earth I would pay for what they were offering, it was laughable

I can't believe Blockbuster are still going tbh. I guess that still have the edge in that you go and get a film to watch straight away, but they are expensive (not surprising as they have shops and staff to pay for) and as soon as a decent streaming service is launched they will surely be gone

I had love film for a year, can't complain about the service, a few times dvd's didn't turn up rang them up and they just sent out another dvd, it does make you feel guilty though as it was the postal service fault not mine. Trying to cancel is annoying though as you have to do it by phone and sit through 5 minutes of them offering you cut price deals etc which is customer retention after all but i just wanted shut as i wasn't actually using it. It was only a fiver but a fiver that I wasn't using anymore. The streaming service is abit poo tbh. Stick to pirate bay :)

Can we stick to discussing legitimate streaming services and not mention PirateBay and other warez sites. This is a professional board and as such we should not be discussing such things here.

I didn't recommend them, I said they must be Taliban scum !!! £46 per year for unlimited downloads when all the money goes to terrorism wasn't a recommendation!
