Getting shut of them is a PITA! I've got a stack of AA and AAA at work from keyboards and mice and nowhere wants to take the blessed things

Most branches of Sainsbury's round here seem to take them - even the smaller ones have battery drop-boxes near the tills.

Any shop that sells more than x amount of batteries by law have to have a scheme in place to recycle customers old batteries.

How about this Sony at Richer Sounds: Sony STRDH510 Black | AV Receiver | Richer Sounds

For £129 it does DTS and Dolby (not DTS HD or Dolby HD though).

Personally, I'd go for this Onkyo: Onkyo TXSR309 Black | AV Receiver | Richer Sounds which does do HD audio. At £169 it is a bargain (most places want £250 for it).

Thats an idea I will look into It seems they have one of them in the local supermarket but I haven't seen it, one location has closed (council sold off the town hall as they are in lots of debt) and the local chemist has one but again never seen it so maybe adding one at us could be a good thing.

Just been in to Currys / PC World to buy a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 camera and found they're selling the Eye-Fi Pro at £40 - £60 cheaper than normal. I don't know if they simply found that no-one bought the Pro version via retail (it handles RAW format files, which your average PC World customer isn't going to bother with) and are just trying to get rid of stock or if it's some kind of pricing mistake - they're still selling the standard version for £10 more.

Every shop that sells over 32kg of batteries a year needs to have a battery bin by law so most supermarkets will have one just need to ask a member of staff where it is..
