ArtieBall Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Basic Version works fine, all shares showing and working as expected. Extended Version just shows My School computer in the left column but empty right column.... very odd! Any idea's anyone? TIA Artie
AdamK Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I've got the same problem too. I posted about it last week but not found a solution yet. Let me know if you manage to get it working. Adam
MrBrow Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I'll add my name to that list. I'm just reinstalling and setting up the latest version 7 after running version 5 for the last year. I've not worried about it too much since I am still trying to get mapped folder permissions working (All works but nothing else seems too) but I know I am going to haver to come back to it again very soon. I think Nick mentioned HTTPS was required to use the Silverlight part but I a have not assigned an external address yet to try.
AdamK Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I've tested it using going through https and I still get the same problem. It worked fine on a previous version though.
nickbro Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Follow the steps in Debugging Home Access Plus+ API Errors - YouTube Note: 1. This is for v6, and some steps aren't needed anymore: 2. Do not click on the auth tab and enter details as it doesn't work 3. The token information can be found by viewing the page source of mycomputersl.aspx (in IE or Firefox), look for:
MrBrow Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I think I haven't done it right, I get this.... soap:Server System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.FormatException: The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or a non-white space character among the padding characters. at System.Convert.FromBase64String(String s) at HAP.AD.TokenGenerator.ConvertToPlain(String token) at HAP.Web.api.ListDrives(String token) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- (Ignore the * in the addresses, Edugeek rules as I am a noob again after not having the old email address to reset the PW and having to recreate my account. Links are not allowed by us noobs....
MrBrow Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Okay well I did put the string in but I left the "token=" in the string. Taken it out now and have a full report. Have I missed something obvious? Thanks for your help, Nick.
nickbro Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Nope, this is a a bit odd. Can you try clearing your browser's cache, it may of cached the old version of the silverlight app
MrBrow Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Everything has been cleared. The server that the new install is on is a fresh build and has never seen the previous install. It is a x64 server which I assume has nothing to do with this. I did test this with just the home drive mapped but nothing appeared from the very start. It wouldn't be anythign to do with IIS7 by any chance, something I have not configured or a role component that is missing?
nickbro Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 if it's loading the XAP file (loading the silverlight browser) then IIS is working correctly. Something in the silverlight browser ins't orking correctly. The My Files section is due to be updated in v8
MrBrow Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I can see that the Extended Version does load (the % load count appears on the screen) but then I am left with a My School Computer heading and no drives underneath. I'll probably run this without the Extended mode as an option and see what your updates bring. People have had version 5 for a year and I don't get any comments regarding that so they are probably using the basic anyway. Well done and thank you for a fantastic bit of software though. It was an absolute saviour last year!
nickbro Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Sorry I couldn't help any more than that, but something doesn't look like it's working properly in the defunct silverlight browser. See if you can get on /myfiles/ in the latest version. It doesn't do uploading yet, but it uses much the same API calls as the silverlight browser
MrBrow Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Wow, I wasn't expecting to see that screen. I think I have missed something on the road map for HAP. That does indeed work so I'll look forward for the release of myfiles
ArtieBall Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 /myfiles/ looks very good.... when will that be going live? Is it using silverlight?
nickbro Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Its due for the v8 release, which is currently set for a Jan release, if I get time over Christmas to work on it.
Avalon Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 getting the following error during installation which I have not seen before and cannot find any reference to the same error on edugeek. Any ideas anyone? Image attached
nickbro Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Very odd, it doesn't seem to like the password and/or HAP Token.
Avalon Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I am certain the password is correct, can you advise what to check with regards to the HAP token? Thanks in advance
