  1. This is so annoying. Just deployed Cubase 13 and noticed the 'all user' issue in a classroom setting - fine for the user registering but then the next user sees the unlicenced message Run the 'enable_current_licenses_for_all_users.ps1' which I thought would resolve my issue but that's not fixed it and even though I can see the activation files moving to ProgramData, i still see the not licensed message. Also tried the fix from @MCrawford above and thought 'aha, that's an obvious solution, good work' but it also fails. I see the files copy but then nothing Anyone else got this working recently? Not sure if something else changed in Cubase 13. I hate this software - bring back the USB licensing (such an odd thing to say but it worked!)
  2. Just throwing my school in here too. Support say there was nothing wrong when contacted a while ago when clearly this thread existing. They were even sent this thread and we had a 'we cannot comment on online forum info'. I couldn't connect myself last week but can today, but a load of staff couldn't this morning hence me posting here. What a mess. Changed from LDAPS to SAML back in the summer but we've just seen issues. Will try the method from @JamieJ above
  3. Just going to say I totally agree with all the references to the Broadcast feature. Just not reliable and I have to deal with complaints that I am not fixing it. Senso support have been good in the past and did a diagnostics session. They took the logs, discovered an issue and developed a fix, then deployed it to their central servers. Only, it didn't fix anything did it! Broadcasting is still inconsistent. I'm hoping that Senso 2.0 will be truly amazing and fix all the performance issues.
  4. I came in this morning to investigate running onedrivesetup.exe /allusers but quickly discovered that I am already doing this and OD is installed to Program Files. This was a common theme around whether it was being run by the user or system. I did run that cmd yesterday and it fixed it on the next login. Same computer / same user this morning and the context menus have gone again. Not that then.
  5. Thanks for this. The thought crossed my mind earlier about this setting and then I promptly forgot. Something still points to the its installed (/allusers etc) but the fact its not been consistently broken doesn't support this theory. Will try the Win10 menu though
  6. YES! I've spent today looking at this and its really annoying! Had a report a couple of weeks back that the context menu was missing for a student or 2. GPO/Intune are pushing configs so not going to be user specific and the same settings apply to all. It seems to be seen by most now. Oddly the teacher reporting this says its fine on their 1-1 device but the context menu is missing when logging into a student device. I need to look at GPOs a bit more but I 'm not really doing anything special between the 2 types of device (staff to students) not OD at least. The room in the ticket has been on Win11 since Feb '24 but they have probably only been using this menu since June/July time. Essentially it must have been there but since gone. I've made no change to configs to cause this. You probably have found the same search results as me - frequently reported but no consistent fix. Even less for a network deployment. One thing I did this afternoon was to manually run the setup file again [onedrivesetup.exe /allusers]. Eventually I went back to the machine and logged back in. The menu had returned. This is the same as you saying about reinstalling OD. When the Machine Wide Installer first came about years ago I deployed it with SCCM and that was that. It installed to Program Files and all was good. I havent done it since as I see the OD install folder is Program Files now anyway so MS must have changed the default or this was me pushing O365 (is OD part of the O365 apps for Edu config now?) I believe there is a single installer now and has been like that for a few years so you probably do have the correct version. Since running the OD setup file with /allusers possibly fixed this I shall look deeper into deploying OD Machine Wide Installer. Not sure that's still a thing but I did get the menus back this way. I did think this was related to the browser not being signed into MS services as when I right-clicked on the OD icon in the task tray, clicked View online, the browser window opened and needed creds. As soon as I auth'd that the menu returned! Automated Chrome to SSO with MS creds, which now works, but it didnt fix the menu. Have you got any further at all?
  7. Thanks for this! I noticed that the author of the app in the store wasn't Audacity so didn't spend time on it. Then noticed that Audacity was acquired by another company in 2021 - this is is in fact genuine. Made the deployment yesterday much easier
  8. Just had a demo of V9, followed by a demo of CRBCunninghams offering. I've used the latter previously but not the latest version and speaking to others, its just nigh and day for the installation side of things. Also sounds like staff jumped from Civica to CRBC too leaving not a lot left at the Civica end. Annoyingly I feel budget means I will be remaining with the current supplier but this installation is a big shoddy now. Shows things havent been developed. @JSpaced - are the previous instructions generally correct then? I havent had a chance to follow them from start to finish to get a working till but done it in stages. If I do stay with Truste then I think I will be needing to do this.
  9. Smoothwall look to be running Debian 8, or Jessie, where the repo has been moved to archive. My appliance was pointed to the archived repo and then Leeds-64 downloaded. I would assume this should have affected all devices but perhaps some have that repo already in the config. Dunno. Open a ticket with them and they can easily fix.
  10. If you have root access, one of the fixes seems to be that you run: perl -pi -e 's/deb.debian.org/archive.debian.org/' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/11debian-core.list Take a backup first though!
  11. Seeing the same issue so thanks for the info
  12. Just making a note here in case anyone else lands on the thread and is trying this. Additional tills would need to be approved I believe within Truste | Terminal Maintenance. If they are not in there, the till wont connect. I haven't tested yet but will when I get a moment.
  13. Sorry to drag up an old thread but it seems logical to keep all this together as a 'how to'. I'm trying to install the software on a new machine (clean build of Windows 10) and following all the above gets me nearly to the end. What's not been covered is the actual till software after the Program File data has been copied - is this TillXP that needs to be run? When I do run it, I get 'Terminal is waiting for a connection'. The NRS2000cashless.ini is in the right place even though it didn't seem to be picking it up and I had to manually enter the SQL server and username/pw. Also, anyone know anything about the silientbatch.exe that I found on a NRS till int he startup? Seems to launch a load of stuff but recreating that on another machines only runs that exe and not all the associated cmd's, nor the TillXP software. Everything else looks good, just stuck at this point now Edit: do I need to approve additional tills in the Truste software?
  14. Yup, just re-enabled the extension and looks good here. Phew!
  15. +1 for Senso releasing what appears to be a broken extension. Lots of unhappy users. Disabled the extension and issue went away. Waiting for a fix.
  16. In case anyone else finds this post... I had the exact same error so went playing with DNS with no luck. Instead, I found that a cert for the gateway (easily accessed via Remote Desktop Manager) had expired and a renew of that fixed the Web Client issue. Legacy methods did still work though with the broken cert so was a bit surprised to see this was the error - just Web Client was broken.
  17. Thanks @LanSchoolUK_Adam I'll send a PM. I am yet to reinstall the teacher computer but have tried a couple of older versions of the Teacher client. Nothing changes. Annoyingly I cannot replicate the 'connect once only and not again' issue on my technician machine so it really could just be that one room. I wouldnt be surprised that a reinstall clears the problem but then there would be no explaination as to why it happened. Spec of problem room: Dell Optiplex 3040 (so really not that old. i3, 8GB Ram, latest drivers, reliable network, same VLAN (same switch), same room.
  18. Anyone seeing the following odd behaviour with Lanschool at all? @LanSchoolUK_Adam - have you any thoughts on this at all? Running the latest release - 8.0.2.82 - with a LCS and the teacher and pupil on the same subnet. 1. Lanschool Teacher can see all the pupils in the class and can change view from details view to the thumbnails. Selecting and controlling a pupil machine will work once but if you try to reconnect, Control is greyed out and you cannot connect a second time. 2. We have also seen that the blue computer icon on the details view then turns grey, assuming this is related the above. 3. Then, very often, after the teacher disconnects, the pupil machine will become locked, as if the Disable mouse and keyboard is selected but we have released control. The only way to release the pupil machine is to kill the Lanschool process. 4. Oddly, when you select a pupil in either thumbnail or details view, you cannot deselect a pupil. It's as if the Shift key is being held down - it's not though and you can then multi-select only several pupils. To clear the selection you have to click somewhere else on the pane, not another computer like we have been used to. Update: this appears to be a registry setting called USETOGGLESELECT. Any ideas how this got turned on as its not in the GUI that I can see. 5. Finally (I think), when controlling a pupil machine, if you minimise the main Lanschool window and have the Remote Control window open, it doesn’t minimise to the taskbar but instead closes and forces you to reopen the main Lanschool window from the task tray. The Remote Control window stays there though. Anyone have any ideas at all? This appears to be something that started in version 8.0.2.54 possibly and is still there after the recent upgrade. This doesnt appear to be a global issue - my desktop certainly works as expected but becoming a real problem in 1 particular room, if not more.
  19. I've really broken mine now as I removed protection which deleted the group and now I can't create a new group due to not using Modern Backup. I knew this was going to be a problem at some point but turns out protection group creation is something that relies on Modern Backup. Darn!
  20. I just come across this myself. Did you ever find a solution?
  21. When you try to load the plugin manually from PowerPoint it errors trying to access the UNC path so that is probably it. At least this seems to be it now. Thanks for the info
  22. Looks to be related to the roaming Appdata that is redirected back to the server. Now with U-EV we shouldn't need this so the GPO redirect can go. Tested with a local admin account and the plugin loads. A domain user with Appdata redirected back to the server fails to load the Smart PP Plugin A domain user with no redirect of Appdata (stays local) loads the plugin and things work! Great stuff, now time to make sure U-EV is capturing all settings before removing that GPO setting.
  23. I've got Smart Ink folders in both the redirected Appdata folder and the Profile folder. Will get rid of one and see what happens.
  24. Oooohhhh.... well yes but we are about to remove the Profile path from AD over summer as U-EV is already setup. Sounds like I need to test this with a clean account then. I guess the plugin stays working when you don't use Roaming?
  25. Okay, I need to ask. Which plugin was used? Same issue as @BlueNine above reported to me last week with red pen only in PP presentation mode (and plugin disabling itself). Just reading multiple threads on Office 2016 and Notebook but struggling to actually find the underlying cause of the issues. Still running Notebook 11.4 and 12.10 drivers. Is this the same as you guys or have you upgraded Notebook?
