Nice, simple and smart, but I assume it's WIP as there is no info on any of the pages once you click-through? I'd be tempted to change the "Services" page title to "About Me", as you already have all your services listed and it is more of an about me type of page when you click it...

One small error I noticed - the title of your home page is "Dan the PC MAn"

:)

EDIT: couple more "errors" (may be just my opinion) on the "Web Design" page:

"Starting a new business or just wanting an online presence." <-- needs a question mark

"Starting from £150 i can help you go from the design stages all the way to getting you up and running." <-- careful with capital "I". I'd say "just £150" and your underline starts too early

Not being an ar*e, just trying to help :)

any feedback would be great

Thanks

Only few things that sprang to mind, and as above, not trying to be picky just offering suggestions.

You have 6 services, but only 4 buttons on main page. Only way to find those other services is dotting around pages.

With your banners, Do you have the permissions for showing hardford school etc as your adverts? (Again not trying to be picky)

Also with your banners there's a bunch of random white pixels that appear at start, then disappear over each image, Any reason, or did I miss something? :D

Might want to mention the area you live in, especially for fixing computers etc, seems no details on where you are? (Unless I'm being blind, which is possible! :D)

But looking good so far, nice and clean!

Second line on web design page needs a capital 'I'.

'websites is my aim i will always try and create what the user would like and offer any advice'

I would change the '&' to 'and'.

'www.hartfordhigh.co.uk & of course this site itself.'

Virus removal page

'If any of these do apply then more than likely you may have a virus using all the latest tools and techniques i can remove these machines and also protect your machine against furture attacks.' needs a capital 'I'.

Looks smart and neat though. :)

I agree - you should have 6 buttons as you offer 6 services. I have rewritten the bit about you and your services - it's not perfect but I am in a bit of a rush! ALWAYS use capitals for 'I' - you are not texting now!

I presume you meant 'honing' as in sharpening your skills?

I have been working with computers since Windows 95 and ever since then my love for computers and anything technical has grown. I studied BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners at college and I was then employed by a local school as a trainee IT Technician. Within 18 months I was promoted to Senior Technician and also began the MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) course.

Services

Looking at the list to the left, you will see that I can offer many services ranging from troubleshooting your Laptop or PC to Website design and creation. I have been honing my computer skills for a very long time now and believe that there is very little that I won’t be able to fix or improve.

If you would like more information regarding one of the services I provide, please do not hesitate to either click on the menu or using the above "Contact Me" page send me an email.

On the virus removal page:

Is your computer showing any of these symptoms? (you can't apply a symptom)

Your laptop isn't quite right (rather than a strange feeling)

If it is 'more than likely' that you have a virus then don't use the word 'may'!

On the website page:

'Professionally designed'. Take a breath - there should be a comma in there between aim and I (or an and) and a CAPITAL. Don't tell them what your websites are written in - they don't care - all they care about is that it is adaptable to a clients needs!

I could go on but I must go and do some work - can someone take over:)

Just a couple of points that stood out for me from the web design page, professional should be professionally. Websites is my aim should be websites are my aim. I would also change the ampersand for the word and. I might also split the word webpages into two words. You need an "of" in between all and my (I run all of my webpages ... should that be websites?)

Sorry stevenewman, but no, it shouldnt be "all of". It might be better as 'I design all websites.etc etc '

Just viewed your school website in chrome 15.0 and the menu bar overflows onto the second line in turn pushing the content to the right underneath the background

Hartford High School

It is even worse for me in Chrome 14.0.835.163

[edit]It doesn't seem to work in IE8 either, except in compatibility mode :( [/edit]

Looks fine to me in Chrome 15 and IE8, so it looks like something odd on your machine CESIL?

Anything is possible I guess although the site is fine in Firefox...

I just updated to Chrome 15 and it still loads strangely...I get a huge grey box over the content although I can just see a bit of content off the right side of the box so the rest of the page is under there somewhere...

I don't know what could be wrong on this computer that would cause this problem as all other sites seem to be fine?

I don't like the changing flash banner. It's unnecessarily distracting. Static images would be fine.

I like the general layout. It looks professional and corporate. Although the name doesn't entirely fit in with that image.

If you had a generic name, you could then present yourself in a 'who we are' page, with a photograph of you.

The navigation is a bit freaky. A link back to your splash page is completely pointless. That's the same as going to 'services.

Think you'd do better if contact me was just a phone number. Get a burn phone with a free sim card. The sort of people you help are liable to be more comfortable with the telephone than website forms.

equally people who usually want websites barely understand what a webpage is never mind the concept CMS,

I think you can get a lot of ideas from a corporate site such as Integrated technology repair and maintenance experts | Geek Squad

Thank you for all the feed back very much appreciated :) I know my grammer is poor but again thank you for pointing me in the right direction I shall look at all the ideas to amend and work from there.

Thanks again and keep the feedback coming.

I tried another computer with my login and it worked fine...so...

removed IE8 and Chrome and reinstalled - no change

cleared all temp files etc - no change

reset all my fonts - hey presto! the site now looks lovely...

from what I could see from the css for the page my Helvetica, Arial and sans serif font(s) were b*ggered...

Oh and I hope DJ-Jonesy's grammer gets better soon...how's grandpa?

Good to hear that Hartford is working ok for you now :). I was gonna start going over it again.

Me and grammar do not really go well with each other but I am sure with everyone here having eyes like a hawk it will get better rather quickly.

*HINT* @CESIL was taking the mickey because you spelt grammar wrong ;)

EDIT: Unless you genuinely believe our hawk-like eyesight will indeed improve relations with your Grandmother, in which case; eh?

Ok then, one last update...

I have discovered that my fonts were not really b*ggered after all...

The style sheet for the site lists Helvetica before Arial and as I had a postscript version of Helvetica installed that was being selected.

After removing Helvetica the site picks up Arial and works properly...I guess that IE and Chrome are having trouble rendering the PS font correctly and that messes the page up.

*sigh* browser quirks...dontcha luv 'em... :)
