Legally, if the roles are the same, it doesn't matter if the title is different or not. The school would be breaking the law if the job description has not been varied somewhat.

After all a NM is an IT Technician first and foremost with supervisory and developmental duties. I have been to far too many NM interviews where they overlook the technical side of the position which is about 80% of the job tbh.

Saw the salary and was thinking thats a bit high for just an IT Tech and then read the job description and it sounded more like a Senior IT Tech position stroke possible NM then just a pure NM position. Esp considering it states essential for Exchange and other things ie VLAN's etc

In this case who knows whether the job has been changed or not, other than the school. All I know is that the Network Manager was made redundant and that this post has arisen not long after.
